As a migraine sufferer myself, I can relate to the pain other sufferers go through on a daily basis. Luckily for us though, there are lots of different things we can do to combat this problem. One good example of what we can do is use a range of relaxation techniques.

Controlling breathing – This is something a lot of people practice. Take a deep breath through the nose and allow your stomach to expand. Hold this posture for a few seconds and then release; repeat 4-5 times. Do this a few times a day and you may feel a lot more relaxed.

Using muscles – Muscles are there to be used and when they are not, sometimes you might become irritated or tense. The best thing you can do is do some light exercise or tense your muscles, even if it is 5-10 seconds at a time. After doing this, it wont give instant migraine relief, but relieve the body of the stress that causes a migraine.

Meditating – This is a great way to reduce stress, which is directly linked to migraines. Meditation is great because it should only take around 15 minutes per day and is actually fun.

Balanced lifestyle – Finding a healthy balance in your lifestyle will allow you to relax a lot easier. If you can allow your body to relax rather than forcing it, then the likelihood of migraine relief taking place is likely to be much more dominant. Part of a lot of relaxation techniques is simply; learning exactly how to relax.

Whilst some of the above techniques will provide some great ways to relax reduce stress and actually get migraine relief for some, it might not work for others. If this is the case then they might need to look at other techniques such as different types of diets, their current sleeping pattern and so on.

Finding a solution to finally achieve migraine relief is not an easy task. There are solutions out there though, so do not be afraid to try something new! http://www.themigrainerelief.com

Migraines are directly linked to stress, so allow your body to wind down in which ever way you feel comfortable. This might mean having a nap on your bed, going out with friends, or playing on a computer.

Of course, every person likes to chill out in different ways, so this is completely down to the individual.

Dieting

A combination of the right diet and the right exercise will ensure that you stay healthy. Laying off the fatty foods would be a great start and try to make a diet up off mainly carbohydrates.

Monitoring your diet is just as important as cutting out the bad food. See if there are any foods that trigger off attacks. Migraine books will suggest that you delete these foods from your diet.

Preparation for the Unexpected

The problem with this disorder is the attacks can come on at any time. This means you might be outside in the garden, or even at work. Either way, you need to have a procedure in place to reduce the pain.

This procedure could be as simply as taking a glass of water to a cold, dark room to relax for 15 minutes when you feel the symptoms arrives.

Visiting a local doctor

It is always wise to keep the doctor informed about the attacks, how severe they are and how frequently they occur. They will be able to monitor you and possibly offer some advice. They effectively work like migraine books, informing and explaining what is about to happen and what you can do to stop it.

Record events

Recording the events of a day is something migraine books will teach you. Recording exactly what is eaten and drunk and if it had any affect negatively is extremely important to try and find the route of the problem.
