You say “Wow! I am pregnant!” Then you remember all the tales you have heard about morning sickness and nausea in the first trimester of pregnancy. As one of the most talked about pregnancy symptoms, morning sickness is really not all that bad. In fact, some lucky women hardly experience it, while some do. It invariably passes off by the end of the first trimester of pregnancy. If you just discovered you are pregnant, then here are a few tips that can help you tackle it with ease.

Prenatal vitamins
Prenatal vitamins contain valuable iron that you need when you are pregnant. But this very same iron can trigger nausea. You may want to try a different brand of prenatal vitamins or go on a low iron formula during the first trimester pregnancy. Also, change the timing of the day when you take it. Try taking your vitamin with something other than water, like in a spoon of pudding.

Snack in bed
This one really helped me. Keep a couple of dry, high carb crackers or toast handy. The moment you wake up, sit up and eat them. Get out of bed half an hour later. Remember not to drink any water. This literally keeps off morning sickness. An additional benefit is resolving heartburn, which is an uncomfortable pregnancy symptom.

Watch what you eat before bedtime
Don’t have sugary stuff at bedtime. This makes your blood sugar drop and encourages nausea. Instead go for high protein stuff like yogurt. It relieves tiredness as well.

Ginger really helps
Natural ginger added to tea or your dessert dish stops morning sickness. You can also go in for ginger ale or ginger capsules.

Slow and steady
Each time you rise after a nap, go slow. Rushing out of bed can wake up that morning sickness in a hurry.

Smell it
Aromatherapy can keep off morning sickness. Try essential oils like lavender or peppermint sprinkled on your handkerchief. When you feel nauseous, inhale it a couple of times.

Stay away from nausea triggers
Often, the smell of different foods can cause morning sickness, as can riding an elevator, heat, the sight of a computer screen, etc. You need to identify these and avoid them.

These are some of the effective ways in which you can avoid morning sickness during your first trimester pregnancy. Do not suffer morning sickness quietly. Keep yourself informed about how you can have a healthy pregnancy, ensuring your health, as well as your baby’s.

Frequently Asked Questions

  1. QUESTION:
When did you first get morning sickness? How many weeks were you?
I am just coming up to 6weeks pregnant on Sunday and cant believe it happened so fast, It took us just 4 months to conceive. Only I remember when I was pregnant with my son I was as sick as a dog morning, noon and night. So far I haven’t had any sickness, I just feel dizzy spells, I am taking vitamin supplements for pregnant women. And I don’t feel pregnant, I have to keep taking pregnancy tests to make sure.

Can you remember how many weeks you were, when you first began to actually be sick.
    Thanks ladies x

    • ANSWER:
First of all, you don’t have to be sick!! Not all women have “morning” sickness, so don’t accept it as fact. Usually, if you’re expecting to be sick, you greatly increases your chances of actually getting sick!

To specifically answer your question, I was a little nauseous starting around 7 weeks, but never actually puked, just had an upset stomach. In lasted maybe 2 weeks.

Think positively and good luck! :)

  2. QUESTION:
Did happen to someone to have morning sickness in first pregnancy the second one no?
With my first pregnancy (baby boy) I had morning sickness 24h untill 4th month of preganancy, now I am planning these motnhs to get pregnant again I am affraid that can happen again to have morning sickness 24h.
Did happen to someone to have morning sickness in first pregnancy the second one no?

    • ANSWER:

  3. QUESTION:
How many of you had morning sickness with first pregnancy?
Just trying to see if morning sickness is more common that not in first pregnancies, also, does anyone have any idea why morning sickness actually occurs? Thanks

    • ANSWER:
I had morning sickness throughout the first 6 months of my first pregnancy. It was pretty bad. I was nauseous quite a bit. I threw up, but not that often. I am now on my second pregnancy (19 wks) and still get nauseous but (thank goodness) have only thrown up once! And sorry to say, I am not sure why, exactly, we get it.
I do have to add a comment here, though. I think that perhaps more women who have had morning sickness are going to answer this question than those who have not – possibly skewing your poll. If you haven’t experienced morning sickness, you might not even “click” on this question because it doesn’t relate to you. Just trying to account for any possible inaccuracies in your data search.

  4. QUESTION:
what was your first episode of morning sickness like?
when did you get your first morning sickness. how far along were you, where was it and what was it like

    • ANSWER:

  5. QUESTION:
When did you first start getting morning sickness?
Hey, anybody that is pregnant or has been pregnant in the past, when did you first start getting the morning sickness if any at all? How long did it last? Anyone know what causes this? Thanks. :)

    • ANSWER:
I was gagging in the bathroom at not quite 4 weeks along. . . in fact, I didn’t even miss my period yet, and thought I was sick, not pregnant! I finally tested a few days later after it continued.

  6. QUESTION:
No Morning Sickness with first pregnancy?
I am 7 weeks along in my first pregancy, and am feeling no morning sickness. I’ve had other symptoms, but no sickness. Im actually feeling the best I’ve ever felt! I seem to have alot of energy (most of the time) It just concerns me b/c supposubly morning sickness is much healthier (thats what i’ve heard). What could be some possible culprits? Should I be worried at all, or just enjoy?

    • ANSWER:
Let’s see with my two pregnancies my morning sickness didn’t start until i was about 8 weeks pregnant. With the first one i gained all together 25 lbs. (i learned my lesson). With the second one I lost 15 lbs. during the first 4 months then gained it back so i ended up thinner than when i got pregnant. I had two healthy baby boys and believe me both pregnancies were different. Enjoy your pregnancy and no matter if your sick or not your baby will be fine. I think i had more energy with my second one because i would go for walks in the afternoon and kept myself busy. Enjoy!

  7. QUESTION:
When did you first get nausea & morning sickness?
I am 6.5 weeks along and am starting to get queasy. I am curious: when in your pregnancy did you first get morning sickness and at what point did it stop? Thank you!

    • ANSWER:
I got it at 6 weeks and 1 day, and it ended at 32 weeks. I had to be admitted to hospital 6 times during my pregnancy as I was spewing up 24 hours a day and couldn’t keep anything down at all.
If you get acid reflux, have a glass of milk before you lie down at night. For the nausea, try ginger, acupuncture, and dry food like toast, crackers etc. Also, the one thing that is a total fail safe is marijuana, well they give it to cancer patients! I don’t know how you feel about that but seriously, it works like magic. The only problem is it makes you tired. I hate the stuff, but I will give it the credit that it really does take away all nausea and vomiting.

Usually the “morning” sickness lasts until 14 weeks. And it doesn’t have anything to do with hCG as I kept getting negative pregnancy tests until I was almost due for my second period (i.e- I had very low hCG levels) but I was pregnant at that time and I had the morning sickness too.

Try to keep your blood sugar levels up as that can cause nausea too. Try to eat as soon as you can in the morning to head it off. Work out what triggers you off and avoid those things (usually certain smells etc.)

Good Luck, and I’m sure it’ll wear off within the first trimester.

  8. QUESTION:
When do you FIRST feel morning sickness?
If you’re pregnant, at what week is the earliest you can get morning sickness?
Can you get it like 2 days after your missed period?

    • ANSWER:
I was 6 1/2 weeks along when the morning sickness started. I found out at 8 weeks that I was pregnant and that is when it hit hard. I had constant sickness all day and night until around 17 or 18 weeks.

  9. QUESTION:
Is it normal to have morning sickness with first pregnancy but none at all with the second/?
I was really sick for my first trimester with my son. Now, i am 9 weeks preegant and have had no morning sickness at all(knock on wood!) Anyone else experience the same? Should I be worried? On other sites some say no morning sickness is a sign of an unhealthy pregnancy and some say its perfectly normal. I cant help but wonder. My 1st doc appt isnt for 3 weeks

    • ANSWER:
I had gotten sick everyday with my daughter including the day i was in labor. than i got preg again with my son and only got sick once. same with this one i am pregnant with now….nothing. It could be that your body can handle more now with your second than it did with your first.

  10. QUESTION:
How many of you had morning sickness with your first, but not with your second?
I am asking because with my first I had horrible morning sickness for 13 weeks & I am now 6 wks w/ my 2nd & don’t have it yet. I heard the 2nd one is easier & that I dont get morning sickness at all with this one. Just wondering how it went for everyone else.

    • ANSWER:
With my 1st, I had morning sickness so bad, I was surprised that I gained weight! With #2, I wasn’t sick at all, but then #3, I was sick all over again. They will all be very, very different.

  11. QUESTION:
What came first – morning sickness, loss of your period, or something else?

    • ANSWER:
sore boobs, then loss of period, then extreme tiredness. i didnt experience any morning sickness :)

  12. QUESTION:
When did morning sickness first start for you? Any strange cravings?
When did you first begin to get sick and what cravings did you have? Thanks x Sarah

    • ANSWER:
I never got morning sickness, some mornings when I woke up I’d feel really dizzy and a tad of nausea as if i had ate too much sweets and I felt that at 3 months pregnant (13 weeks).

I was only sick one through my pregnancy, probably about 5/6 months, due to eating a chinese curry…baby didn’t like that!! He made me throw the whole lot up…and the rice!

Oh and I had cravings for cheese, pickled onions, boiled eggs with toast!! I guess savoury is for boys!

  13. QUESTION:
Did you take Ondansetron for morning sickness during your first trimester?
My first ob/gyn appointment isn’t for a few weeks, but my primary physician gave me a prescription for morning sickness due to my inability to keep anything down. SHe said to try not to take it if possible, but I have been in bed for a week straight and can’t even function. I’m wondering what an ob/gyn might think of this medicine and what the risks to the baby are…
    Please help.

    • ANSWER:
I had to take it through my whole pregnancy due to a condition called hyperemesis, which is basically a fancy way of describing a pregnant woman who can’t stop throwing up. It sounds like that might be what you have as well. You will be very lucky to get it, because it is crazy expensive. It’s about 700 for a months worth of pills. They were my life saver though and my daughter is almost 4 months and completely healthy! I hope you feel better soon!

  14. QUESTION:
How many days or weeks preg were you when morning sickness first started?

    • ANSWER:
It started around 5 weeks and I’m now 12 weeks and it’s still ongoing.

  17. QUESTION:
If you got morning sickness during your first pregnancy did you get morning sickness during your second?
pregnancy? I had bad “morning” sickness during my first pregnancy. It started around week 4 and lasted until about month 6. But I haven’t had it that bad during this pregnancy. Was your morning sickness better, worse or the same with your second pregnancy.

    • ANSWER:
my morning sickness was unbearable with my first pregnancy. (girl) i didnt believe it could get any worse. untill i got pregnant again (boy) its a miracle im still alive lol

  18. QUESTION:
Was morning sickness your first symptom?
I’ve been feeling nauseous for the past 4 days… but my period isn’t due until Friday. I heard that many women experience morning sickness 2 weeks after conception; is it possible for that to be the only symptom at the moment? My breasts aren’t swollen or tender…oh but I have been feeling slight cramping for the past few days along with nausea. My main question is: has anyone felt morning sickness before any of the other symptoms like swollen breasts, etc.?
Did anyone have morning sickness before their missed period, and then the other symptoms kick in after their missed period?

    • ANSWER:
no. swollen breasts come first.. like week 4 or 5.. morning sickness is week 6 and after. but i never had that.

  19. QUESTION:
If you got morning sickness with your first did you also with your 2nd?
I got terrible morning sickness the 1st 3 months of my pregnancy. I think it had a little to do with my diet at that time, we didn’t have a lot of money so we were eating a lot of crap like ramen noodles.
If you got morning sickness with your 1st did you also with your second?
I have a stomach bug today that’s just making me remember how I found out I was pregnant in the first place.

    • ANSWER:
I have had 4 babies in the last 5 years, and each pregnancy was different. With my son I had the worst nausea for the entire 39 weeks. With each of my girls I had mild-moderate morning sickness only during the first trimester.

Every pregnancy can be very different, but usually there will be some similarities throughout. You know your own body so trust yourself, and take a pregnancy test if it’ll make you feel better.

  20. QUESTION:
What were the first signs your morning sickness was going away?
I’m 10 weeks pregnant and have suffered from morning sickness 24/7 for the last month. However, yesterday I went 4 whole hours without even feeling nauseous! Is that a sign I’m reaching the end of the tunnel?

    • ANSWER:
It could be, but be aware it could still take awhile.
I knew I was tapering off when I didn’t vomit first thing in the morning like usual. It would hold off to lunch time then eventually later and later. Then it was every other day and then it was just once in awhile. I didn’t start tapering off until around 16 weeks, but every woman is different. I hope you are beginning this process, because I know how much it stinks. To me it was the worst part of pregnancy. I am 38 weeks now and in a lot of pain, but I would still take the pain over vomiting.
      Congrats on the baby.

  21. QUESTION:
Who’s had their first belt of morning sickness this morning?
I woke up this morning feeling very ill, have had nausea for the past couple weeks but todays the first time I’ve had sickness. I just thought this would be an interesting question to ask :)

  23. QUESTION:
Did u have morning sickness with your first pregnancy? what about the next baby?
My daughter is 6 months old and im thinking about getting pregnant again in a few more months..maybe 3-6 months..but anyways im sooooo afraid to be pregnant again cus i had severe hyperemesis )which is bad morning sickness) when i was pregnant with her, so now im so afraid of trying for another baby! if u had bad morning sickness with your first baby, how did it go with the 2nd one? thanks !!
oh one other thing did u have a boy or girl with your sickness if u had any?

    • ANSWER:
I had hyperemesis with my first pregnancy. I lost 25 lbs. I was sick every day & took nausea medicine daily. He was born healthy. I had no intentions of having anymore. I didn’t want to be that sick again. But I ended up pregnant just before my oldest turned 1. My second pregnancy was much worse. My hyperemesis was so bad that I had to have a PICC line inserted in my arm. I took Zofran every 4 hours & administered IV fluids twice a day from 10 weeks until he was born prematurely at 34 weeks. My doctors have advised me not to get pregnant again because the chances of the baby surviving would be much smaller. They told me that TRUE hyperemesis will get worse with every pregnancy – just morning sickness is another thing.

Just be prepared if you decide to do it again. I had no idea that it vould get that bad & was totally unprepared. I love both of my boys but I would never go through it again.

  24. QUESTION:
Can you get morning sickness in the first week during pregnancy?
I was just wondering if you can get morning in the first week during pregnancy.

    • ANSWER:
I had sickness from the beginning til 16 weeks, so yes you can. Sorry to be pessimistic, but it’s one of those things. Some dry crackers and ginger ale can help calm your stomach.

  25. QUESTION:
When does morning sickness first occur during pregnancy?

    • ANSWER:

  26. QUESTION:
How do you ease major morning sickness for first time pregnancy?
She can’t eat anything, and everything she does eat comes back up. Any suggestions?

    • ANSWER:
25ml of b6 vitamin three times a day. It takes about a week to start to jsut barely feel the effects, but after a few weeks it really does take it away.

Drink water, and eat what little you can. Crackers, water. Avoid a prenatal until you can keep food down, they only make it worse.

  27. QUESTION:
Did any of you get morning sickness for the first time at 7 weeks?
I had no signs of morning sickness and suddenly at 7 weeks I got it pretty badly. Did this happen to any of you?

    • ANSWER:
I had it from weeks 8 to 22, so I feel for you. It was HORRIBLE for me. I hope it gets better. try eating some saltine crackers before you get out of bed in the morning. Stay away from greasy and fried stuff. it will only make it worse!!

  28. QUESTION:
What are the first signs of pregnancy before the morning sickness?
I’m trying to get pregnant and I was just wondering what some of the first signs are before actually getting morning sickness.
Another thing I just thought of… When should I stop smoking. I’ve been through a lot of hard things lately and the smoking helps…..

    • ANSWER:
      Sore breasts and exhaustion.

*You should stop smoking immediately. If you are successful before the pregnancy, then you will gifting your child with a clean nurturing womb. Nicotine causes blood vessel constriction. In the unborn, this can be very damaging and can result in low birth weight, and other issues from the lack of oxygen. I commend you on your foresight and I hope that you find a program that works. Ask your doctor for assistance, there are new prescriptions that can make it easier for you to lay down the smokes.

  29. QUESTION:
When do the first symptoms of morning sickness occur?
My girlfriend thinks she is pregnant and we are both only 14 and kind of freaking out, any help would be great. She has been getting some of the symptoms (high and low temperatures, tired, loss of appetite, nausea/fainting). It was only the other week though and I don’t know if she just has a virus or what?

    • ANSWER:
      Maybe she has mono.

if she is pregnant, take a pregnancy test

  30. QUESTION:
When did you first start having morning sickness?
this is for all the ladies that think they are pregnant because they are nauseous 2 days after having unprotected sex.

Please post in term of your missed period (and only if you are confirmed pregnant or have had the baby)

  31. QUESTION:
If i got morning sickness with my first child will i get it with my second?
When i was pregnant with my first child i thought i had got away with no morning sickness, unfortunatly it got me around the end of my fist trimester and i got it bad!! was sick all day for about 6 weeks! I am 6 weeks pregnant now and although i feel a little green in the mornings, it hasn’t hit yet. Has anyone had morninh sickness with one pregnancy and not another?? i know its all part of being pregnant but i fear it more than giving birth!

    • ANSWER:
No, every pregnancy can be different. Some say it depends on the gender of the baby and how the hormones interact between mom and baby. In my family it seems…the boys make you beautiful and the girls make you sick, tired and bloated. One thing IS for sure…your sense of smell and taste will be enhanced. You can smell like a hound dog when you’re pregnant :) . Certain smells and/or foods can trigger sickness. Try eating saltines when you’re feeling nausea…the salt may help to calm the sensation.

  36. QUESTION:
Did you have morning sickness with your first child but not with your second?
I hear that every pregnancy is different. With my first son I was violently ill from about 5-16 weeks. I am crossing my fingers that when I conceive again I will not have the same experience. Just curious about your experiences and how unique each pregnancy is. Thanks for sharing!

    • ANSWER:
Yes it is different each time. The main cause of morning sickness is a combination of issues related to the chemical changes your body is going through. Mix a pinch of nutmeg powder with a table spoon of gooseberry juice, and take it thrice a day. Sip little by little ginger juice mixed with honey before you get out of bed. 37. QUESTION:
It is possible for the same woman to have morning sickness with the first 2 pregnancies but none with the 3rd?
I am 5 weeks pregnant with our third, and no sickness yet! It seemed to start about 4 weeks with my other two.
I am 5 weeks along with my 3rd, but morning sickness had already started at 4 weeks with my other two. I know every pregnancy is different, but since my body is the same, shouldn’t I be having morning sickness?

    • ANSWER:
Hormone levels are different with every pregnancy wchich can cause you to be more or less sick each time. My first I had no sickness, I wasn’t very tired, she will be 1 yr old on Sunday so it hasn’t been long, but now I am 17 1/2 weeks pregnant and had the most severe morning sickness I lost weight for the first 2 OB appointments because I was so sick, I have been extreemly tired so much that they checked my thyroid, for enemia and low iron, all of which checked out to be perfect. This pregnancy is totally the opposit of my last and it’s only been a year.
Everything about my body is the same, I was almost the exact same weight starting both pregnancies, same activity levels, same job, same diet everything, just different pregnancies!
Good luck to you, cross your fingers that you won’t get morning sickness!!
      Congrats!
      Toni Lynne =)

  38. QUESTION:

I am at 12 weeks now and I never had it,but I am wondering if I will get it still at some point.

    • ANSWER:
morning sickness usually starts at 6 weeks and ends around 16 weeks. i had “evening sickness” lol. i was always sick around dinner time, luckily it only lasted a few weeks and it was pretty early in my pregnancy(around 6 weeks). i’ve never heard of anyone starting morning sickness after the first trimester but i suppose its possible but most likely not.. :) good thing for you!

  39. QUESTION:
    morning sickness/first trimester?
is it possible to have morning sickness off and on through out your first trimester. i had it the first month and a half but these last couple of days i haven’t felt it much. i still get it a little at night but during the day i feel normal…with the exception of being tired at random times during the day. is this normal?

    • ANSWER:
Oh yeah that is totally normal. Some people never even have a touch of morning sickness. So be glad yours has let up for the time being. I had it very mild but the tiredness was overwhelming, that was my BIGGEST clue i was pregnant. I was never a nap person but being pregnant has changed that. Enjoy your pregnancy but realize it is every changing and everyone is different! So relax and be grateful your not hugging that porcelain bowl today!

  40. QUESTION:
anyone have bad morning sickness that went away after the first trimester?
i am almost 9 weeks pregnant and have very bad morning sickness. it is bad in the morning, subsides for a fe hours in the afternoon, and then comes back by 4pm. i can’t go to work, i can barely eat, and i have to go to bed by 7 cuz it gets so bad. i have tried every “remedy” there is. my question is, is there anyone who experienced this and did it go away towards the end of your first trimester?

    • ANSWER:

  41. QUESTION:
Can you have morning sickness all day when you first become pregnant?
Can you feel sick to your stomache besides in the morning in the first few weeks of your pregnancy.? and get sick when you smell things like tuna.?

    • ANSWER:
Yep, morning sickness should just be called pregnancy sickness, because you can get it at any time. During the first trimester I feel sick all day long, and it sucks. Smells can definitely set it off, as your sense of smell becomes much more acute when you’re pregnant.

  42. QUESTION:
First Time Pregnancy ??: Did you experience morning sickness or overall sickness during your first pregnancy?
I am having absolutely no morning sickness/or/all day sickness. I’m curious to know if it’s just because it’s my first pregnancy.

Did anyone else experience this during their first pregnancy? Is this like just a 1st time pregnancy thing or does it depend on the person? Finally, what gender baby did you wind up having (for fun)?

    Thanks!

    • ANSWER:
Everyone is so different. Some people feel sick in the evening. Some are sick all day every day. So are sick for just the first trimester. Some for the whole pregnancy. And some poor few even still have it when breastfeeding!

Personally, I had nausea but no vomiting. Mainly in the first trimester. It was only when I didnt eat enough/on time. I could never ever let myself go hungry or it was the end for me! So I always had a bag of snacks with me (fruit, crackers, cheese, nuts and raisins etc)

      I had a little boy on the 30/09/2009 :)

  43. QUESTION:
My wife is pregnant, should I worry when the morning sickness stop before the first 3 months?
my wife is two month pregnant, and she’s been going through all the morning sickness. Now that she doesn’t feel any of those simptoms, she thinks that something is wrong..Should she worry? or is this normal?

    • ANSWER:
No, Morning sickness varies with every person/pregnancy.

I’m not a ‘sicky’ person and with 2 pregnancies was only physically sick twice with each. Some people are sick passed the 3 months, some all the way through.

Unless she was throwing up none stop and wasn’t able to eat etc, I don’t think there’d be cause for concern… Maybe if you’re still concerned you could call nhs24 or speak to a midwife/dr to set your mind at ease.

  44. QUESTION:
Anyone have bad morning sickness with their first but NOT with your second?
I am almost 5 weeks and so far feel great. With my daughter I was sick immediately. I was wondering if anyone else didn’t get sick with their second one?

I still expect it to happen but hope not, lol.

    • ANSWER:
I had relatively late onset morning sickness with my first (from about 8 weeks to 16).

With my second one, I’m now 15 weeks along and haven’t had any at all. I’ve felt a little “crappy” from time to time, but nothing nearly as bad as last time. And thank goodness, because morning sickness was bad enough when it was just me – I can’t imagine dealing with morning sickness and a toddler!

Hope you end up without it this time too!

  45. QUESTION:
severe morning sickness first time, what about 2nd.?
I am 7 weeks pregnant and just nauseous, no vomiting…yet. With my daughter I had hyperemisis gravidarum (severe morning sickness) I threw up every day until my 3rd trimester and then it was every other day or so. I heard you get morning sickness worse with girls and this time I feel like I’m having a boy. My question is I want to know if anyone had really bad morning sickness with their first and then got to experience what most women do, morning sickness ending around the 2nd trimester or earlier with their second. If you didn’t have severe morning sickness with your first I still would like to know how it was with your subsequent children. thankyou.

    • ANSWER:
I had pretty bad morning sickness with all 3 of my boys…especially with my 3rd one..It felt like I had the flu..=) All of my morning sickness with them ended by my second trimester. But I’m pregnant again and I’ve had hardly ANY morning sickness…this has been a pretty easy pregnancy for me so far.

  46. QUESTION:
How soon after first missed period does morning sickness start?

    • ANSWER:

Every woman is different with their pregnancy..
Some maybe not even get sick..

  47. QUESTION:
when did you first get morning sickness?
    im 6 weeks preg
does everybody get it? does it last all day?

    • ANSWER:

  48. QUESTION:
What usually comes first? Morning sickness or positive preg test?
Sooooo….. Since I got off birth control about 4 months ago I have not gotten a period yet, I was on birth control for 2 years and got my period every single month, but always had irregular periods before that. Now my husband and I are TTC, I have been feeling kinda nauseous lately, but not enough for me to throw up or anything, so could that be a sign of possible morning sickness? I have already taken a preg test and it came out negative. But still, I have been feeling like this for the past few days now.. Could it all be in my head?

    • ANSWER:
it could be… sometimes you start to convince yourself that ur feeling symptoms of pregnancy for hope (or in my case fear) that u may be pregnant… you will have to wait and see if any tests come out positive… but you never know- it may just be that you’re actually going to become a mummy!!! good luck!! :-D

When people hear the words “morning sickness”, what typically comes in their mind is that it is associated with early sings or the first trimester of pregnancy. But when it comes to nausea and vomiting of morning sickness, they are not strictly associated to the first trimester of pregnancy. Some pregnant women may experience nausea late in the pregnancy period during the third trimester.

Experiencing nausea later in pregnancy has several reasons for some women. As you know, nausea in the first trimester of pregnancy is due to the hormonal changes within the body. This scenario may happen again later in the pregnancy as the levels of hormones continue to fluctuate. Plus, the baby is encroaching on more space within the body and it is also larger in size during the third trimester of pregnancy. During the third trimester, nausea after eating is also common because of the uterus pressing up on the stomach. This situation may happen with or without heartburn as well. To avoid late pregnancy nausea, a good idea is to eat smaller meals and eating them more frequently during the course of the day. There’s not much room within the stomach that is good enough to hold a large meal.

The most important thing is to be sure that you stay fit and healthy. Make sure to call your doctor once you feel or experience severe stomach pains or vomiting. Another illness or virus can sometimes be the cause of the problem. You also have to make sure that nausea and vomiting do not interfere with your ability to eat. The mother as well as the baby needs to absorb the nutrients they receive from a good diet. Also, make sure to avoid being dehydrated by sipping water continually for it may bring preterm labor.

Sad to say, there’s a condition known as hyperemesis gravidarum (HG) which causes women to suffer severe morning sickness right up until they give birth to the baby and even after giving birth in some cases. HG is defined to be as a frequent, persistent and severe type of vomiting. The vomiting and nausea prevent the body from absorbing an adequate amount of food and liquids. The causes of HG may be unclear, but might be associated to the levels of hormones and estrogen that some women produce which is far higher than the usual. Women who suffer from HG typically loose body weight by 5 percent or more than their pre-pregnancy. They also suffer dehydration. They find themselves having altered sense of taste, having difficulties when it comes to their daily activities or they might even undergo hallucinations. The fetus may also be put at risk by the condition for heart disease and diabetes later on in life or neurobehavioural issues right after it is born due to the dehydration and malnutrition during pregnancy. Because of the risk of complications and dehydration to the pregnancy, women suffering from HG should be treated as a medical emergency. Methods such as intravenous re-hydration, antiemetic medications or nutritional support might be needed.

The good news is, having nausea in the latter part of pregnancy is uncommon to most women. Those pregnant women who do suffer from it may find relief in repositioning themselves while they are eating to alleviate the pressure on their stomach. If you know someone, or if you are suffering from extreme nausea during pregnancy period, be sure that your treating doctor knows about how often the vomiting is happening as well as the methods or things you have done on your own to treat it. And of course, if there are any dehydration symptoms that you see or feel, don’t hesitate to seek for help immediately.

Foot Arch Pain in the Morning

Are you suffering from foot arch pain in the morning, after or while walking, running, after sitting or sleeping? You may be having inflammation of plantar fascia, called plantar fasciitis. Plantar fascia is a ligament between the front of the heel and the base of the toes that help to support the arch.

No need to bother as foot arch pain in the morning can be got rid of by using natural home treatment. The sufferer at first should understand the symptoms, causes and diagnosis and then select the appropriate treatment that addresses his specific need.

Harrowing pain in the foot arch, in the heel of foot, in the high arch, in the ball of foot and foot pain may indicate attack of plantar fasciitis. Stress on the heel, age-related loss of resiliency in the ligaments, tendency of the foot to roll inward upon walking, some form of arthritis and wearing ill-fitting shoes can cause this condition.

Clinical examination used to diagnose this disease takes into consideration a patient’s medical history, physical activity and foot pain symptoms.

To get relief from foot arch pain in the morning, insert an over- the counter arch support and heel support cushion into the shoe. Cut a hole in the pad to relieve pressure on the tender area, if necessary. Try to avoid walking barefoot, since it may put added stress on the ligament. Rest as much as possible and you may also use pain relievers to reduce pain and inflammation.

Frequently Asked Questions

  1. QUESTION:
When did your morning sickness begin to improve?
I am almost 11 weeks pregnant and experiencing morning (“all day”) sickness. It was awful between 8 and 10 weeks. I had it every single day. For the past few days, it has been slowly improving. I am now just having short moments of sickness off and on instead of constant nausea. I was just wondering when other people began to feel some improvement.

    • ANSWER:
Mine went away about a week before my second trimester started.

  2. QUESTION:
When exactly did your morning sickness begin and end?
I’m almost 9 weeks and I’ve had morning sickness since the day I turned 7 weeks pregnant. I just want to see when it started and ended for everyone! :)
It’s not so much that I am throwing up, it’s just that I have extreme nausea at times. Like, I’ll be running to the bathroom all day because I think I’m about to toss my cookies and then nothing happens. I kind of just wish it would though!

    • ANSWER:
I never really had morning sickness. I would get a metallic taste in my mouth and I’d feel queasy, but I have only thrown up twice since being pregnant … and it wasn’t severe.

  3. QUESTION:
How long after sex (if pregnant) does morning sickness begin?
Let’s say you had sex, and now you’re pregnant, how long before you get morning sickness?

    • ANSWER:
I think it was around a week after my period was due, so about three weeks after conceiving. Then the dreaded sickness began. Morning, noon and night sickness that lasted for 4 months, very depressing, but when it stopped….suddenly….just like that, I felt HEALTHY.

  4. QUESTION:
When did your morning sickness begin?
I am about 6 1/2 weeks pregnant and have experienced a sore chest but no morning sickness. I was wondering when it began and if it has anything to do with carrying a boy. My mother is convinced it is worse if you are having a boy because of the hormones your body is not used to (she had two boys and two girls so this was the case from her expereince). Does anyone agree? Should I have it by now if I am having a little boy or will it kick in later? I am curious, I have no preference as far as my child’s gender, I was just wondering what others thought!

    • ANSWER:
First let me say, congrats! Not everyone gets morning sickness at all. I have had 4, 2 boys and 2 girls. Needless to say they were all VERY different. 1st (girl) had very little sickness in the morning, never vomited. 2nd (girl) could barely keep water down, let alone food, and was losing weight like crazy for the first trimester. 3rd (boy) a little vomiting around 6 weeks, non after. 4th (boy) could only eat starchy foods before noon or up it would go, entire pregnancy.

So, no one is the same. I would see your doctor about the sore chest though. Good luck and God bless!

  5. QUESTION:
when did your morning sickness begin?
I am 5 and a half weeks pregnant and I have been pregnant before and can’t remember at what weeks certain things happened. I know everyone and every pregnancy is different but just trying to see if I do start getting sick when it should have began by. When did you start having morning sickness? Anyone out there have no sickness at all?

  6. QUESTION:
how soon does morning sickness begin after conception?
I just recently found out that i am pregnant and I haven’t felt in the least bit sick. Is this abnormal? And should i expect it to begin soon?

I had morning sickness a few times around 3 weeks, and then it became more normal at 6 weeks. Some women just don’t have morning sickness.

How soon does morning sickness begin?
We are trying to get pregnant, and I don’t want to get my hopes up, but for the last 3 days in the morning I’ve been sick to my stomach, if I eat or if I don’t eat. I’m still about 10 days away from when my period should start.

    • ANSWER:
It certainly wouldn’t be 10 days before your period is due. You wuoldn’t have even implanted yet…You cannot get pregnancy symptoms until you’ve implanted. You most likely ovulated a few days ago. Morning sickness starts at different times for everyone. Some women never get it. I didn’t start getting morning sickness until my 6th week.

  9. QUESTION:
How soon can morning sickness begin?
I’ve heard it can begin as soon as a day after conception, but i’m not sure.

    • ANSWER:
Technically, yes you can start experiencing morning sickness at conception because that is when your body starts being flooded with the hormones that cause nausea. I have a friend who swears she was sick from day one with her daughter… while her son caused no nausea at all. Not all women experience morning sickness though, generally they say if you haven’t had any by like eight to twelve weeks you probably won’t. Then there are some women who have it all through out their pregnancy. I had all day sickness until half way through my second trimester… I was constantly on the verge of being sick for months and it sucked. I got a short reprieve but I’m thirty-three weeks along now and starting to get some of that sudden nausea coming back.

      Top 10 Morning Sickness Tips
      From Robin Elise Weiss, LCCE,
Your Guide to Pregnancy / Birth.

Being pregnant means that about 75% of women will feel queasy or actually vomit at some point in their pregnancy, usually very early. While there isn’t one magic cure, here are some of the top tips to help ease your stomach.
      1) Take two crackers…Two crackers before your head leaves the pillow is old but wise advice.2) Think SmallSmaller frequent meals can also help keep an ailing belly at bay.
      3) Avoidance
Avoid foods and smells that seem to trigger nausea. Sometimes this will be nearly every food or every smell.
      4) Blood Sugar
Eat something high in protein before going to bed. Helps your blood sugar stay more level.
      5) A Cookie a Day…
Ginger, teas, cookies, even the spice can be helpful in preventing nausea.
      6) Ice, Ice, Baby
Have sips of ice water as the urge to purge strikes. Many women say that this helps them keep meals down as well.
      7) Pressure
Acupressure bands can be worn like bracelets and can curb nausea while you wear them. But be forewarned as one mom says, stand next to a bucket when you take them off! 8) Great Breath
Peppermint, either smelling it in aromatherapy form or sipping the tea can help curb nausea. It’s also known to help with sagging energy levels.
      9) Relax
Take a deep breath. It might be mind over matter sometimes. This sounds hokey but actually worked for me several times when I absolutely couldn’t afford to be ill. It didn’t curb the nausea but kept my lunch in my body.
      10) Comfort Food
Eat what you can, if it stays down it is probably a good thing. Slowly add more foods to your diet as possible.

      *********************************************************************
Despite its name, morning sickness—nausea and vomiting that is often one of the first symptoms of pregnancy—can happen at any time of the day. Up to 90 percent of pregnant women experience this less-than-pleasant side effect, yet scientists are only beginning to understand why running to the bathroom and saltines are a rite-of-passage for moms-to-be.
Now, new research has shed some light onto morning sickness, and its roots lie in evolution.
Researchers from the University of Liverpool suggest that morning sickness may have developed over time to protect pregnant women from potentially dangerous food or from eating too much unhealthy food.
To test the theory, Dr. Craig Roberts and colleagues looked at the rates of morning sickness in different regions of the world and the typical diet of the population in that region. Ultimately, not only was “high overall food intake correlated with pregnancy sickness, but also the amount of certain types of food predicted the incidence of pregnancy sickness,” he said.

In other words, it’s not just the amount of food you eat, but the type of food that seems to influence the degree of your morning sickness.
To further look at this phenomenon, Roberts then compared only those women from Europe and North America and pinpointed the types of foods that seem to trigger the symptoms of morning sickness: sugars, alcohol and meat. Additionally, women who ate high amounts of cereal-based products tended to have lower-than-average rates of nausea and vomiting during pregnancy.
The researchers theorize that women’s bodies have slowly developed an aversion to sugar, alcohol and meat because all of these foods contain high levels of toxins that could be potentially dangerous to a mother and her child. Cereals, on the other hand, tend to contain a very low level of toxins, so they could possibly be safer for a woman to eat. Remember, however, that these toxins may not pose the same hazard now that they did in the days of ancient man.
“While there may be no particular harm in eating, say, meat, now that we have refrigeration and ‘best before’ dates,” said Roberts,”our bodies may be pre-programmed by evolution to avoid these particular foodstuffs in the first trimester.”
If there is a particular food that seems to make your morning sickness that much worse, it may be acceptable to avoid it, but be sure to consult with your doctor before changing your diet. That way, you can be sure that you and your baby are still getting all of the vitamins and nutrients you need.

  18. QUESTION:
Can morning sickness begin at 9 weeks?
I have had a normal pregnancy up until now. Sleepiness and peeing more. Well yesterday I started getting really sick. I am not throwing up but I am nauseous! I just am wondering if anyone else started this late.

    Thanks!

    • ANSWER:
Morning sickness can occur at any time during the first
trimester. I didn’t get morning sickness until about the 9th week of pregnancy as well.

  19. QUESTION:
Is it normal to begin morning sickness at 12wks?
never had morning sickness previous, also alot of stretching ligament pains in hips normal?

    • ANSWER:
The one sure thing about pregnancy is that is can be so different for each woman. You can experience morning sickness all through your pregnancy, only in the beginning few weeks, towards the end, and some lucky women never experience it at all. I wouldn’t worry too much about the morning sickness. Just make sure that you aren’t eating something new, because it could be completely unrelated to the pregnancy. Make sure you take time for yourself to relax too, that will ease up on the morning sickness. At this time soda crackers can be your best friend.

As far as the pain in your hips, that’s very common. Your hips are starting to spread to make a nice cozy atmosphere for your baby to spend the rest of your pregnancy in. It can be uncomfortable, but it shouldn’t last too long. If the pain sticks to your right side, it could be sciatica. This means the baby is putting pressure on a nerve. Keep taking moments in the day to sit down and allow your body to rest. Also, be sure to maintain your fluid intake.

It will all start to get comfortable to you soon. Your body will adjust and then you can enjoy your pregnancy. If you can swing it, try to book yourself a prenatal massage… They are WONDERFUL!!!

Good luck to you and your baby!!!

  20. QUESTION:
How long after intercourse does it commonly take for morning sickness to begin affecting a woman?
For those of you that have been down that road, I was wondering how long it takes after the ‘impregnating episode’ of sex before a woman first experiences “morning sickness.”

    • ANSWER:
Is no common length of time. Some amazingly within a few days of conception if they are extremely sensitive to HCG. Others never get it. I think it seem sto be more common at abotu 4-6 weeks to START though.

  21. QUESTION:
How far through a pregnancy does morning sickness begin?
Like, as soon as your pregnant?

    A week after conception?

    A month…?

    • ANSWER:
it all depends on the woman. every pregnancy is different. you may get morning sickness and then again you may not. it’s not a bad thing if you don’t get it either. it just means you are lucky.

  22. QUESTION:
When did your morning sickness begin to slow down?
I am a very nervous, newly pregnant woman. I started getting sick at week five, was sick weeks 6-7, and I am starting to feel better now that I have hit eight weeks. Is this too early? I still have an acidic stomach, but no more vomiting, and I am worried that the decrease in nausea means there might be a problem.

    • ANSWER:
My morning sickness started at 10 weeks and stopped 12 weeks exactly. I had a relatively short period so far. Women vary and when they start or stop is different. Generally it stops about the second trimester but some people have morning sickness all through some stop sooner than others. Also, certain changes in diet can affect morning sickness as well. Have you eaten less spicy or greasy foods? Do you drink sprite or ginger ale? If not consider yourself lucky. But, if you feel worried, it wouldn’t hurt to give your doctor a call and ask. Believe me, I think they know my name by heart :) . I’m not as worried now and they were willing to answer my questions with no problems. It might give you a little bit of relief. I would not worry to much. If you have cramping and bleeding please go to the doctor as soon as you can. Congrats on your pregnancy.

  28. QUESTION:
    When Does Morning Sickness begin?
When Pregnant. when does morning sickness arise?

    • ANSWER:
It’s different for everybody. With my first and second pregnancies, it started around 6 weeks, but with my current pregnancy, it didn’t start until about 9 or 10 weeks (I thought I was going to be off the hook on this one!). Some women never have morning sickness. My doctor did say that if you are going to have morning sickness, you’re going to get it sometime during the first trimester.

  30. QUESTION:
    When does morning sickness begin?
I am 10 weeks into this journey and so far, I have not been sick one day. Have I just been blessed or does it start shortly?

    This is my 1st baby.

    • ANSWER:
Consider yourself lucky. I HAD NO morning sickness at all. It was wonderful. I would hear so many horror stories and just smile and say…”hmm that’s too bad for you, I feel great!” Enjoy not being sick, if you have another it may be completely different. :)

  31. QUESTION:
when does morning sickness typically begin?
This is my first baby and I hate throwing up…I haven’t started getting sick yet but I was wondering when it starts…I know every one is diffrent but I just want to get some sort of idea.

    • ANSWER:
Morning sickness usually begins around the 5th week. Some women never experience morning sickness. It then starts to taper off around 12 wks. My big thing with all three of my pregnancies was I would gag on my toothbrush when I was brushing my teeth which would cause me to get sick. A little tip if this happens to you, brush your teeth as soon as you wake up before you eat any thing. If you do get morning sickness there are things you can do to help. You usually get it because you are not eating enough protein. So eat a little bit every couple of hours, but make sure it is high in protein. Cheese and crackers with some fruit or apples and peanut butter. Eggs are also a really good source of protein. But make sure you have fruit with it so you are getting a good balance of sugars and protein. Also keep a jar of peanut butter and a spoon in the bathroom so when you wake up in the middle of the night to pee you can eat a spoonful of peanut butter. That will keep your protein levels high during the night so when you wake up in the morning your protein levels are not at rock bottom. There are also stomach soothing foods you can eat but they really are different for each person. What helps one woman can have another in the bathroom throwing up for an hour so you really have to find what works for you. Just make sure you get enough protein. And drink plenty of water. You don’t want to get dehydrated. Also if you like hot tea, Traditional Medicinals makes a pregnancy tea that is fantastic.

  33. QUESTION:
    Morning Sickness?
At what point during a pregnancy is it possible for Morning sickness to begin?

I had my last period 6-7 weeks ago, not too long after it hubby and i got back to trying for a bub.

After about a week or 2 i noticed a lil blood when going to the bathroom and thought i was going to have my period again but it was really light and went away after 2-3 days.

In the past 2-3 weeks i’ve been feeling somewhat crook, cant handle alot of sights and smells that usually dont bother me and have been gagging (nearly vomiting) at various things, then this morning i began vomiting over nothing…i had nothing but water in my stomach so didnt bring up much, but does it sound like it could be morning sickness??

I will do a test at some point today, we’ve been trying for around 8months now and so far no luck so i assumed we’d be unlucky still until i started feeling so terrible.

    • ANSWER:
It could be a sign that you are pregnant some women start getting symptoms really early, I didnt start getting morning sickness until I was about 8-9 weeks pregnant. My morning sickness was like that too because I tend not to eat first thing in the morning I was just wretching and bringing up very little. Hopefully you are pregnant I will keep my fingers crossed for you xx

  34. QUESTION:
When did you begin to experience morning sickness?
And when did it subside? (How many weeks)

5 weeks is still early and you can definately still get it.
Alot of people never get it but the people that do usually have it anyjere from 3wks-15wks or more.
As you progress into your pregnancy it becomes less and less likely to come on.

But unfortunately, some people have it the whole 9 months! Yuck!

      Good luck and congrats’

  35. QUESTION:
I think I might be pregnant, when does morning sickness start?
I think I might be pregnant but I am not sure, I tried searching up all the symptoms but they aren’t very accurate, when does morning sickness begin during pregnancy?

    • ANSWER:
mine started a week before my period was due and last (thankfully its was mild) up until the second trimester where it got much worse before it went away (lost over 15lbs in during those weeks). I also started getting tired around week 6, enough for people to notice (especially my boss at the time).
Then it came back again in the third trimester for 2-3 weeks, but I think that was mostly due to heartburn.
Sour candies and ginger helps. If you have any other questions, especially if you are pregnant and don’t want to ask something that may be private to you on here you are more then welcomed to email me any time! Karma5000@yahoo.com , I check it religiously lol. I’ve kept myself more then informed during my pregnancy and have had my share of bumps along the way (even my doctor says he has to watch what he says to me because hes afraid I’ll be correcting him!)

  36. QUESTION:
when do you begin to have morning sickness in a pregnancy?
i still dont know if im pregnant yet but i cooked some not so good pancakes this morning then 10mins later i was throwing up…could i really be pregnant?

    • ANSWER:
Not everyone has morning sickness. I didn’t in my first pregnancy, but had it for the first 3 months of my second one-day and night.

Unless you added something to the mix that is perishable you probably did not get sick from pancakes though. I usually just add water so I don’t see how that would cause a reaction. (Unless there is some other way to make pancakes. I don’t know I’m a horrible cook!)

I would get a pregnancy test to be sure.

  37. QUESTION:
When do most women begin to experience morning sickness start?
I am 4 weeks and 4 days pregnant. My memory could be failing me but with my daughter I remember getting sick right away.

How soon after conception could you begin to have morning sickness?
Just wondering if what I am feeling is normal? Thanks!

    • ANSWER:
Personally both times i’ve been prego that is how I’ve found out I was pregnant. I started morning sickness about 4 weeks both times as it continued through the day i had each child. If it is really bad ask your doc they can give you medication to help with the nasia.

  40. QUESTION:
When did you begin experiencing morning sickness & breast soreness?
When during the beginning of your pregnancy did you experience these two things? A couple days after conception? A month later? Not at all?

    • ANSWER:
The breast soreness happened almost before I knew I was pregnant, in fact that was the first clue I had. The morning sickness was only once in a while and I think it started fairly early maybe about 4-6 weeks or so. Mostly I just felt queasy and as long as I had something in my stomach I was OK. I only really lost it 2 or 3 times when someone was smoking.

  41. QUESTION:
When does most morning sickness begin?

    • ANSWER:
It has been different in all 3 of my pregnancies.

With my son (1st born): I got morning sickness around 8 weeks but it was never too bad… Just felt ick all the time, but it went away when I ate.

With my 2nd born – a girl: It was VERY bad and it started around 7 to 7 1/2 weeks. I was extremely sick (dry heaving – couldn’t hold anything down, etc) it lasted until i was out of my 1st trimester.

Now I am 6 weeks pregnant with my 3rd child and it has already started to kick in. I feel nausious throughout the day especiallyv when I am hungry AND also if I over eat. Weird huh?

      So:
      Baby1 : 8 Weeks
      Baby 2: 7 – 7 1/2 Weeks
      Baby 3: 6 weeks

  42. QUESTION:
How early can morning sickness begin?
Alright, I know that this is an age old question that everyone has asked a million times over. And I know that a lot of people are going to tell me “No, you can’t have it this early.” But, unlike a lot of girls, I have a few extra factors that I have to weigh in.

    Here’s my story:

I had unprotected sex four days ago. That was Saturday, April 4, 2009. Tuesday morning I woke up with a horrible headache and awful stomach pains. I felt like I wanted to throw up but I couldn’t bring myself to do it, but at the same time I wanted to eat but refused to just knowing that food would make me vomit.

I know that it’s very improbably to have morning sickness after 3 days. It takes the sperm up to 3 days to fertilize the egg.

However, this is when those other factors come in:

I was diagnosed with Familial Adenomatous Polyposis at the age of 12.

(I’m including this link because the doctor that performed my surgery used to work for that hospital. You can research it more on your own, if you wish.)

I had my entire large intestine removed and a “J-Pouch” put in. (See “Therapy” section in link.)

I was told several things about living with FAP that are not included in that link by my Gastronologist at Children’s Medical Center in Dallas.

For instance, hormones work differently with my body. It’s like their in hyperspeed or something.

One of the reasons I never got on birth control was because it is a hormone and there are no studies being made as to what effects it has on patients with FAP.

I’ve looked it up several times and I can’t come up with anything. So, I was hoping somebody here could help me out.

Is it possible for me to have morning sickness 4 days after unprotected sex with my disease?

I don’t know. :( Maybe the studies have changed since I was younger, but if you find anything, could you please just let me know? It’d be very helpful. :)

    Thank you! :D

    • ANSWER:
I know this may seem naive, but really… anything is possible! I was only 2 weeks pregnant back in July 2008 when I started urinating -constantly- and lots of cramping… and my doctor was sure it was just a UTI (which I *knew* it wasn’t, because I had had one before) so I was given a pregnancy test and obviously tested negative since there wasn’t enough hCG yet, and the UTI test came back negative as well; but who can really say you aren’t getting morning sickness already if infact you are pregnant? Seriously, every woman is so different with their pregnancy and medical research still has so much to uncover that right now they are only able to skim all the possibilities women have with their individual pregnancies. Although the books are helpful, sometimes you will find symptoms that no one else has had or is very rare…

Obviously, you’ll know if it was morning sickness if in 3-4 weeks your period doesn’t arrive and you test positive on a pregnancy test (I suggest clear blue digital)… really, a woman’s intuition and knowing herself is the best consultant as to how you’re feeling… I just had this weird knowing feeling when I was pregnant even though for the following 3 weeks tests told me I wasn’t. Now, I’m 40 weeks pregnant and about to pop! :)

Sorry I don’t have any strong evidence for you medically, but that’s just my own personal experience with getting early symptoms that most women (the frequent urination) usually don’t get until weeks after they find out they’re pregnant.

      Regardless, good luck!!

  43. QUESTION:
How early in a pregnancy should morning sickness be expected to begin?
i know it is different for different people but on average?

    • ANSWER:
With my daughter, it started around 12-14 weeks. And with the one I am pregnant with, it started before I even TOOK a pregnancy test. Everyones different. And if you don’t have morning sickness yet… enjoy it. Because it sure is HELL. HAHA

  44. QUESTION:
how soon will morning sickness start?
my fiance and i just moved in together. we usually use a condom during sex but sometimes we start without one and put one on towards the end. i’ve been feeling very nauseous lately and i’m scared i might be pregnant. how soon will morning sickness begin?

  45. QUESTION:
How long after implantation does morning sickness begin?
I know that morning sickness doesn’t typically start until you are 6 weeks or so along, but I have been feeling very nauseous in the morning and throughout the day. We have been trying to get pregnant for 7 months now with no luck. My period has been pretty wonky, but I think it is expected to start any day now. Could I be having morning sickness this early, or is it just wishful thinking? It’s been going on for almost a week already. I haven’t vomitted, but wish I could. I had morning sickness like this with my first and second. Nauseous constantly, but never vomitting. It never started until a couple months into the pregnancy. What to you think???

    • ANSWER:
consider the reason behind morning sickness. it’s due to the fact that a womans hormones are changing, stress, and other factors I can’t think of right now. lol. some women have morning sickness right away. others don’t. the only sure way for you to tell is a pregnancy test. good luck! and hopefully it’s more than just wishful thinking!

  46. QUESTION:
How early did morning sickness begin for you?
I have been extremely fatigued for the past 3 days. Needing sleep, and almost nodding off at work. Today I got other symptoms that lead me to believe I am pregnant. Today I started suffering nausea so bad, I almost vomited. There’s a slight sense of heartburn too, and a mild headache that hasn’t gone away for hours.

I have my doubts since I have heard that morning sickness starts at around 2 weeks, but it’s been only about 1 week for me. Is it possible
to start it earlier? Am only about a day late with my period, so not sure still.

    • ANSWER:

  47. QUESTION:
How far along into a pregnancy do you begin to get morning sickness?

    • ANSWER:
I experienced the dreaded morning sickness almost the day after conception. Some however, never feel morning sickness and some start feeling it around 4 to 6 weeks of pregnancy and it can last up till the time you give birth. Generally though, it only lasts a couple of months. And rarely is morning sickness just in the morning. Some have it all day and some have it in the evenings. In my day, they had a morning sickness pill, which the drug industries has taken off the market due to long term side effects on the babies. One of these side effects was premature balding in males. This pill worked wonderful! Now they have all these rituals, like eat saltine crackers, before you get up or drink a little ginger-ale and so on and so on. None of those things worked for me. But if you run across something that helps, then stick to it.
