What causes morning sickness? Well, there are numerous 00004000 things that can be traced to the cause of morning sickness. And along with each of them, it is important to note that each case is different. In other words, every pregnant woman experiencing this may have a distinct cause that another woman may not have at all.
What causes morning sickness in some cases are hereditary-related issues. In other cases, it can be because a woman is susceptible to certain things enhanced by pregnancy. One common morning sickness cause originates with women who previously had problems conceiving. Women in this group more than likely went through some sort of hormone therapy which has been linked to causing morning sickness.
There is another morning sickness cause that has to do with hormones and their fluctuating levels. This particular problem doesn’t necessarily have anything to do with conceiving, however. Many women have too much of one hormone and not enough of another. In this case too, once pregnant, a woman is likely to experience morning sickness.
In order to find out what causes morning sickness in your specific case, you need to understand your own body. Women who are sensitive to odors may experience the same sort of problem once pregnant, which may trigger a bout of nausea. This in particular can be a morning sickness cause or simply a symptom accompanied by others causes.
One cause of morning sickness that may be considered as having a hereditary link is low blood sugar. It’s not surprising that some women who have this problem see it increase once they become pregnant. As a result, more symptoms may be seen in addition to morning sickness.
There are other things too that are known to cause morning sickness. One of these, although a little less discussed, can be considered an important cause for morning sickness. This is the body’s own process of detoxifying itself. This morning sickness cause can take on the form of many different symptoms.
Cases where the pregnant woman experiences an increase in bowel activities fits into this criteria. Some doctors credit the detoxification idea for being body’s way of making it a healthy place for the embryo to grow and develop. This is one way to explain the numerous causes for morning sickness.
While considering other causes of morning sickness, it is also necessary to look at the available treatments for this experience. There is a lot of information out there to instruct women on how to combat morning sickness. Some of them lean towards natural remedies, while others simply offer basic means to address the causes of morning sickness.
One natural treatment for morning sickness is to drink liquids, especially water, right after eating. This again is a method of detoxification, which seems to help women experiencing severe morning sickness. Another natural treatment is to consume ginger or to drink ginger ale. This spice has long been credited with controlling feelings of nausea and can be extremely valuable at this point.
The importance of understanding the causes of morning sickness leads to also finding proper treatments for it. Although women generally go through this process for only about eight to nine weeks, it can seem much longer than that. But being prepared for this experience and knowing the right remedies can help make this period transition much faster and smoother.

QUESTION:
What causes morning sickness in pregnancy?
I have had four healthy pregnancies and gave birth at age 18, 19, 20 and 21. I never experienced a day of morning sickness. Now, at age 38, I am wondering if I become pregnant, if will I go through this?-
ANSWER:
The hormone HCG which is produced when the embryo implants into the uterin wall is what makes you sick. This hormone doubles every 48 hours which for some people is hard on their body (and their stomachs). Just because you had 4 pregnancies with no sickness does not mean you will have a 5th just like it, or vice versa.

QUESTION:
What causes morning sickness?
Every morning as soon as I wake up, I feel nauseous. I know its just one of those wonderful things we pregnant ladies have to out up with but I was just wondering what the cause of morning (all day) sickness is?-
ANSWER:
Sudden hormone changesYou may be able to alleviate nausea by keeping some food in your stomach — by avoiding having a stomach that’s completely empty or completely full.
Eat smaller meals or snacks frequently throughout the day.
Before getting out of bed in the morning, eat a couple of soda crackers or a piece of dry toast. Rise slowly, allowing some time for digestion to occur before you get up.
Have a small snack at bedtime and when you get up to go to the bathroom at night.
Drink fewer fluids with your meals.
Thanks

QUESTION:
Why do we get morning sickness?
Every pregnant women, well most, know the joys of pregnancy, and not so joyful parts of pregnancy. What is supposed to be a very wonderful and joyful experience, can be the worst experience, when your hugging the toilet or walking around feeling quite iffy. So that brings me to my question. Why morning sickness? Why throwing up, the one thing everyone hates to do. Spending hours to cook a meal to only see it again.Does anyone know what causes morning sickness, there has to be a reasoning behind it.
-
ANSWER:
No one knows for sure what causes nausea during pregnancy, but it’s probably some combination of the many physical changes taking place in your body. Some possible causes include:HcG rises rapidly during early pregnancy. No one knows how hCG contributes to nausea, but it’s a prime suspect because the timing is right: Nausea tends to peak around the same time as levels of hCG. What’s more, conditions in which women have higher levels of hCG, such as carrying multiples, are associated with higher rates of nausea and vomiting.
Estrogen: This hormone, which also rises rapidly in early pregnancy, is another suspect. (It’s possible that other hormones play a role as well.)
An enhanced sense of smell and sensitivity to odours. It’s not uncommon for a newly pregnant woman to feel overwhelmed by the smell of coffee, for example. Certain aromas instantly trigger the gag reflex. (Some researchers think this may be a result of higher levels of estrogen, but no one knows for sure

QUESTION:
What are causes of morning sickness besides pregnancy?
I know I”m not pregnant, but these past few days, I haven’t been able to keep food down in the morning. Could the recent death of my grandma be a possible cause?-
ANSWER:
Could be stress you’re feeling from that tragic event. It could also be due to low blood pressure when you wake up, or even dehydration. Try drinking a small glass of water before you go to bedPersonally, I’ve found that taking a multi-vitamin was making me sick everyday. I can’t take vitamins in the morning, even with food, or I will be seeing it all again in about an hour.
Maybe look at what you’re eating as well. Do you eat late at night before going to bed…that could be contributing. I can’t handle very large meals any time of the day, so in the morning, I’ll get ready for the day first, then have a light yogurt. Then maybe a few hours later, I’ll take a break and have a piece of fruit. This goes on throughout the day. While I don’t eat lots at once, I still get my calories in because I eat 6-7 times during the course of a day.
Not saying that that is your issue, but just suggesting that, until this subsides, you might want to downsize your breakfast or put it off another hour or so if you’re not too hungry.

QUESTION:
What else can cause Morning Sickness besides Pregnancy?
Lately I have been vomiting and nueaseated at the same time every night for weeks now, I can never keep my last meal of the day down. I do take Ortho Tri-cyclen Lo at 9:30pm and I puke around 12 to 1am. I was taking Prozac but stopped a month ago because it made me nauseated too. I took a pregnancy test and it was negative. What else could cause this?-
ANSWER:
It could very well be a food sensitivity. Try cutting out the major food allergens for about a week or so and add them back slowly one at a time to see if anything triggers it. You may also be experiencing some kind of reflux. Try sleeping with your head and shoulders elevated so you’re half sitting. It could also be a reaction to your medications. Take them at another time of day and make sure you’re not mixing them with anything. I used to get violently ill when I took Tylenol before bed because it was mixing with Lamictal. No one knew at that point that they had an adverse interaction.

QUESTION:
are there any birth control pills that don’t cause morning sickness?
i’m thinking of getting back on the pill, i quit b/c i couldn’t afford it but now i can. i remember when i was on it a couple years ago that the first couple months i had really bad morning sickness, it was horrible. i actually left work early one day b/c i couldn’t deal with it. i know it eventually stopped, but isn’t there some pill out there that doesn’t cause you to get morning sickness as bad? or could it be the time of day i took it? i was thinking about yaz, anyone on it?-
ANSWER:
Progesterone based pills are better for this or low estrogen. The pill is supposed to mimick pregnancy hormones, so that is why you get sick. Talk to your doctor. It is not like back when your mom was getting on the pill, there are so many types now. You should be able to find one.

QUESTION:
morning sickness…is it different for each child?
I have been pregnant 3 times. I have 2 children and had 1 miscarriage. I didn’t have morning sickness with any of the pregnancies. Is that just my body or is it different for each child. I have a boy and a girl. I am one of those people who absolutely hate throwing up. I will lay in bed for hours not moving to try to get rid of that feeling even though I know if I get it over with it will be gone within minutes.what is it that causes morning sickness?
-
ANSWER:
It is hard to say what causes the morning sickness, but it is I believe that the hormones are a major influence to this. I guess with each child, there can be diffierent levels of hormones for each child, and that could be a factor. Also another issue is the environmental influences such as fragrance, smell of food, other smells like pollen, chemicals and other things can set off morning sickness too.

QUESTION:
Can the pill cause morning sickness?
I’m on my 4th pack of birth control pills, I just finished my period a couple days ago and decided to switch my time for taking the pill from 7:30pm to 10pm, however since then I’ve been waking up feeling extreme nausea in the morning, and today I even threw up. Is this due to the change in the time I’m taking my pill? Or is this a sign of pregnancy even though I got my period?
I have not had sex since before my period-
ANSWER:
It is doubtful you got pregnant because that is not a big time difference in taking the pill, but it is still possible, take a pregnancy test near your next period. Also, nausea is a symptom of birth control pills. It may be because you were taking it closer to diner time so you still had food in your stomach, so try eating a sandwich or something while you take the pill. Also, it may go away on it’s own after your body adjust to the new schedule.

QUESTION:
Is morning sickness(pregnancy) caused because your baby doesn’t like the food or what are the reasons for it?
I’m about 8 weeks in my pregnancy, and have been with morning sickness for the last 2 weeks. I thought it would be fun if on my cell I would have a list of every food that has made me throw up. Well I’ve noticed that 3 times in the last 2 weeks I’ve ate chips: doritos, lays, and fritos and I’ve throw them up! It made me wonder is it cause the baby doesn’t like the food? Or cause its too much for my stomach? My husband was happy saying that good for the baby that he/she makes me throw up chips so that I won’t eat them! Haha! I was just wondering what exactly causes morning sickness or sometimes all day sickness? Thanks!-
ANSWER:
morning sickness is caused by your body disposing of the excess hormones its producing into your stomach. While it does this continuously – its when you have an empty stomach the problem occurs- its too consentrated for the body to process- so it tries to remove it from the body in the only other way it knows how- by making you throw it up. Thats why you feel sick. Your body is trying to make you get sick to get the stuff out of your stomach. It can be controlled in two ways- First dilution= they did a study that showed drinking an 8 oz glass of real orange juice when you first wake up- before you stand up- it reduces the occurrence of morning sickness by half.
Second- absorption= go pick up good old salteen crackers (salted soda crackers.) Any time you feel even a tiny nauseated – eat 4 crackers. The salt gets the bitter taste out of your mouth and the crackers absorb the offending hormone fluid. Do not drink anything while eating crackers. Write down the exact time you feel sick- you notice it hits at the same time every day- now eat the crackers 15 minutes before the time hits- and you’ll never feel sick again!

QUESTION:
what are some causes of morning sickness? (please read)?
every morning for the past few days, i have been throwing up. i KNOW that im not prego cuz im a virgin. what else could it be?
im not on birth control. it first happened like friday when i was walking to school. i was wit my friend, and my stomach starting hurting so i called for my grandmom to come pick me up….then i when i got home i got sick….-
ANSWER:
I used to have a similar problem, I’d be sick to my stomach every day in the morning. I didn’t usually throw up, but the nausea was terrible.Turned out I was lactose intolerant. I had a big bowl of cereal with milk every morning and it was making me sick. I switched to soy milk in my cereal and the ‘morning sickness’ went away.

QUESTION:
What causes bad morning/all-day sickness?
After trying for over two years, we finally got the BFP on March 5! Exciting! I’ve noticed, though, that the morning sickness hit me harder and sooner than it did with my first pregnancy. With my daughter, I didn’t experience morning sickness until near the end of the third month, and it only went for about a month, and always in the morning. With this one, a week after I got the BFP I started feeling queasy in the evenings, and it’s since gone into full-blown all-day sickness. I eat because I have to, not because I want to, and I have yet to find something that really perks my interest. I realize that every pregnancy is different, but I was wondering if there’s any particular reason that causes worse morning sickness for different pregnancies?Maybe it’s just me. My mom had two girls, and was in and out of the hospital because she was so sick. My aunt had two boys, and only felt like throwing up once. I’ve had people tell me that because I’m more sick than last time, it’ll be a boy. I’ve also had people say twins, and a few said triplets. Is there any correlation between multiples and morning sickness? Or gender and morning sickness?
I’ve had to stop taking both B and B12 because I just couldn’t keep them down. I’ll ask my OB about B6 though.-
ANSWER:
Congrats!I had the all-day sickness for most of my first pregnancy (first of four). I have two boys and two girls, and my first pregnancy was the only one I was really really sick for. I can’t tell you what causes the morning sickness – but make sure you have plenty of soda crackers around. It may help to have them on your nightstand to have a little nibble before you even get out of bed in the morning.
Also make sure you stay hydrated.
If the vomiting becomes severe, you may have something called “hyperemesis”. Make sure you talk to your doctor about it because that may require medication and possibly even IV fluids.
Of course, that new baby in your arms will be worth it all! Congrats again

QUESTION:
What is the scientific cause of morning sickness?
(If you plan on responding with “PREGNANCY”, you’re fired. You’re not cute, not witty, and probably fail a lot of tests for not reading the instructions.) Now then,
Is morning sickness a symptom of a vitamin deficiency? What is the scientific reason for it?-
ANSWER:
No – morning sickness is the cause of an extreme rise in your hormone levels. Progesterone especially. I didn’t have morning sickness until the doctors discovered my progesterone was low and they put me on pills. WOW. My sickness really kicked in then!

QUESTION:
Morning Sickness, need help!!!!?
Could you tell me some foods that you know of that are apt to cause morning sickness? I’ve cut out orange juice in the morning, and that seemed to help a little. What else do you think?-
ANSWER:
When I had the flu the doc said not to drink or eat dairy because it’s harder to digest. I think that may help morning sickness. It’s hard when you’re pregnant tho because you want to get as much nutrition to the baby as possible. But my doc said (about morning sickness) whatever gets you thru it is fine. Even if you need a big gulp of pepsi every morning to keep from getting sick. Just try to replace nutrients from foods that make you sick with other foods that don’t. Check out this website http://www.americanpregnancy.org/pregnancyhealth/morningsickness.html
hopefully it will go away by your second trimester.

QUESTION:
Has anyone experienced morning sickness then went on to have a miscarriage?
I was just wondering cause my morning sickness has finally started and I am 9 weeks prego. Do I still need to be worried about a miscarriage? I want to tell everyone the good news but I want to wait until I know I am not going to miscarry. Because I do not want to go thru that in front of everyone I know.-
ANSWER:
Hun, our first daughter passed away 2 weeks after she was born due to lung problems but there were no signs leading to this tragedy. We then experienced 3 miscarriages and she had some slight morning sickness but nothing to remark about. We did have 2 beautiful daughters to follow all this up which are wonderfully healthy and my wife experienced severe morning sickness and hyperemesis during both of these pregnancies and was hospitalized numerous times throughout both pregnancies…and the results were absolutely wonderful.
I guess, in summation, morning sickness can occur in the most dramatic and painful ways and you can still have the most beautiful healthy child in the end.
Congratulation and I wish you all the best.

QUESTION:
could this be morning sickness?
I haven’t been feeling any other type of symptoms (for pregnancy or just a sickness), but for the last two or so weeks i get the random feeling like i am going to puke. i haven’t puked though, just get the feeling and sometimes i will almost puke but i hold it back as i HATE puking…
at first i didn’t think anything of it, until a few nights ago when i was eating. i bit into a smokey and instantly felt like i was going to puke… i couldn’t even look at it without feeling sick… :
i hear that the smell of certain things can cause morning sickness in pregnant people, so i got a little worried.could this be morning sickness? could i be pregnant?
-
ANSWER:
There is no way for us to know that. Is your period late? Can you take a pregnancy test? Most women don’t experience morning sickness within the first 4 weeks of pregnancy. It comes on as the hCG levels start surging upwards.

QUESTION:
Could prenatal vitamins cause morning sickness? ?
Okay so I’m 9 weeks pregnant, and it is very different from my first pregnant (as I expected) anyways once getting the positive results back over a month ago I asked for prenatal vitamins because my first appointment isn’t until the 22nds of this month. So they gave me prenatal vitamins, and I notice ever since I started taking them I’ve been very sick. My hubby and I think its the prenatal vitamins, because none of this started happening until after I started taking the prenatal vitamins.
I take mine at night and with food. Still sick.
See ever since I have gotten pregnant I am up all night, and during the day I have my son so I sleep when he sleeps but that is it. My hubby helps out as much as possible. I do take my pills at night (I’ve learned that from my first pregnancy) but I feel ill all night, all day. I hate to even think of food, but I force down soups and drink lots of water and orange juice and that stuff is the only stuff I can stomach. Tonight I decided to get brave and ate a sub and I threw all of that up.-
ANSWER:
Prenatal vitamins can definitely cause nausea. I was going through the same thing not too terribly long ago. You could ask your obgyn to try you on a different pnv. They come in many shapes, sizes, and they even have some chewables. You could also take flinstones vitamins if you can tolerate those. (We see a lot of that in labor & delivery). Also, my Ob suggested refrigerating your vitamins and taking immediately before you go to sleep. Some vitamins should be taken on empty stomach as well. My ob told me if I absolutely couldn’t tolerate them in first trimester, put them up and drag them back out during the second trimester when most of the nausea subsides.

QUESTION:
Morning Sickness Caused by stress?
Ive been thinking a lot about it and following my morning sickness because I havent had to much of it. It seems like everytime I dont see my boyfriend for a long period of time (starting at about week
I start to get morning sickness. Symptoms start popping up I dont know if anyone has had this but I start getting a very senstive gag reflex and then it esculates into vomiting a couple of days later. Im wondering if the combined stress from work and not being able to see my loved one is causing the morning sickness? Has anyone else experinced something like this or think it could be possiable? Any tips(Not the saltine cracker tips just like the de-stressing types of tips) and advice would be greatly appreciated as well. Thanks Guys. Will add details as well…-
ANSWER:
I definitely think morning sickness is caused by stress, or at least exacerbated by it. I guess just do whatever relaxes you. Like taking a bath (not a too hot one though of course), listening to soft music, watching a funny movie to get your mind off things, meditate. Also make sure you are getting plenty of sleep. Good luck and I hope you feel better!I always noticed during my pregnancies that when I was under stress the morning sickness would get a lot worse. Especially when I was worrying about money, or having doubts about the daddy of the baby, etc.

not stressed, not worried. Not due to drink. Thought originally phelgm but cleared so not that…..Jusdt happens erratically also been getting really bad headaches.Plan to see doctor but any clues
-
ANSWER:
Sickness/vomiting in the morning is usually stress related. Is it on particular days, for example, on work days rather than weekends/days when you are not working?Think about what may be causing you stress and what you can do to reduce stress.
And take time getting up in the morning. Eat healthily and drink water throughout the day.
Think about what activities you could take up, like swimming, meeting up with friends etc which will reduce stress and make you feel more fulfilled.Once you have reduced any anxiety/stress, the vomiting should disappear/reduce.
Best Wishes.

Pregnancy symptoms vary with each pregnancy. I’ve known many people who never had morning sickness during three pregnancies, then had it bad with the fourth pregnancy, and vice versa. My mom was sick for four of her six pregnancies, and wasn’t sick for the other two.The article is great, detailing some factors behind morning sickness, but it’s not proven fact. So many factors come into play, such as where the baby’s sac attaches itself (higher, lower, to the front, or the back).
The fact remains that there really in no way to tell, and even if you didn’t have morning sickness with one child, you could very well have it with the next.

QUESTION:
i am ten weeks along and i have a bad cause of morning sickness?
i throw up all day i cant eat and i have the worst cramps ever. i even throw up water. after sex i have real bad leg cramps that last all night. do you think sex is bad for me. help help . i am hurting here. though i am only 18 i need answers before i go crazy-
ANSWER:
Ok, you have to calm down so you are not stressing yourself and the baby, my morning sickness was bad too, I threw up water as well, I didn’t even know I could throw up water…I had to stay in bed for a week or 2 because everytime I got up I was dizzy and everytime I made an effort to go downstairs to get something to eat, I nearly passed out, so I couldn’t really eat. If you can’t eat try to drink, it’s probably hard, but you are going to need alot of water so you don’t dehydrate and get worse. Drink something with B vitamins, because it helps you get hydrated faster and it’s good for you and the baby. Gatorade, smart water, Vitamin Water, Powerade should all have B vitamins. Try to eat small things throughout the day, try eating some sweet fruits or melons, that helps me. I heard ginger helps ease morning sickness…I never really tried ginger, but you can buy a box of ginger tea or you can eat crystallized ginger, which is kind of like candy. I don’t remember having cramps, I was just really sick. Try taking a warm bath (not hot) and relax, get some fresh air too, that helps alot. If it helps too try watching something that can take your mind off the pain. How many weeks are you? If someone is there to help you tell them to please make you something or get you some gatorade from the store or cut up some fresh fruits.

QUESTION:
My girlfriend is 9 weeks pregnant and has morning sickness all day, what causes it? ?
Is there anything she can do to stop this? how long will it last? she is sick at any moment of the day and has to stay off work, please help.-
ANSWER:
They don’t know the true cause of morning sickness. In some people it can be really bad, I had it every day through the whole pregnancy for both my pregnancies. Some things might help like ginger, B vitamins, if she craves odd foods like chips, then it might help her – everyone is different. Try the accupressure wrist bands for travel sickness, they might help a bit too.

QUESTION:
Dangers of Morning Sickness???
Well, i’m worried that me throwing up more than keeping food down is dangerous.. I mean i can eat certain food sometimes, and other times i can’t. I need to know something to ease this morning sickness, cause it seems that my child isn’t getting any nutrtion. Any help on this would be great!-
ANSWER:
The biggest danger of severe morning sickness is dehydration. The baby will still get everything it needs from your body, so you really need to worry about yourself more. Take your prenatal vits and eat small amounts of food every 2 hrs or so. Try sipping very hot or very cold drinks in between, as it will stop you from dehydrating and it will calm the nausea some. I find peppermint tea works best for me, and munching on small, ice cold watermelon cubes. Before getting up in the mornings, try eating a few crackers or plain biscuits to settle your stomach a bit. You can just keep the packet next to your bed if you have no one to bring it to you.

QUESTION:
Why do i get headaches & nausea every morning?
I wake up every morning with terrible headaches and nausea. I sometimes even throw up, but only bile comes out. The headache and nausea would last for about 4 hours in the morning. It makes it hard for me to move and get ready for school. I’ll throw up & then feel better.. but then feel sick again & throw up a half hour later. I’m 16 years old & it’s impossible for me to be pregnant. I’am on birth control for my periods though. but i don’t think it can be a reaction from that cause i’ve been on them for almost a year now & never had this problem before. What are some illness that cause morning sickness besides being pregnant. I’m going to the doctor soon to get tested but for now I would like an idea of what can be wrong with me & maybe I can fix it. Is it cause I don’t eat in the morning? I never eat breakfast.. especially when I’m sick cause I feel like I’ll just throw it up. But it’s odd I only get morning sickness on weekdays when i have to get up super early for school.. never usually on weekends when I wake up late.-
ANSWER:
Aside from being pregnant…It could be anxiety. I get physically ill when i’m anxious.
Because you’re still growing, your hormones care still going kind of crazy.. a birth control what once worked for you, may not work for you now because of your hormone changes. You may want to consider switching!
Also! Not eating breakfast can make you feel very sick, it is important to get even a little something in the morning!
I hope you feel better soon!

Hi everyone, I was wondering if the symptoms that occur during morning sickness (vomiting, nausea, being tired…) be caused by something else such as in infection or just having the flu. I did some research and found some websites that give examples of things that can cause same symptoms as morning sickness. Thank You.-

QUESTION:
SEVERE Morning sickness??
I posted a question this morning about being 6-7 weeks pregnant and at 3am-8am I had severe diarrhea & vomited like crazy. Atleast 16 times! I was counting. I finally ended up in the hospital and they gave me Zofran & IV Fluids. The doctor there said it was morning sickness. Does morning sickness really cause all of that? Diarrhea too?? I really hope not! I was very dehydrated, but can’t keep anything down….
This is our 2nd baby. With our daughter I had the picture perfect pregnancy. No problems of any kind. This one seems to be complete opposite.-
ANSWER:
I have severe morning sickness..I’m 9 weeks, and have had it since I was 5 weeks. My doctor put me on anti-nausea medication, which seemed to help a bit, but made me super tired. I’d rather sleep though, then be sick 24/7. There are a couple things that will help a bit, but NOTHING will take this away completely..just hope it subsides by the second trimester! I feel your pain though, it’s just horrible.

QUESTION:
Question about morning sickness?
I am having miserable morning sickness and I don’t know what to do. I read that morning sickness is caused by high levels of estrogen, and excessive estrogen makes your stomach churn, but I seem to be having the opposite problem. Whenever I throw up, there is no acid at all, and sometimes food will just sit there in my stomach for hours, while it churns and makes me feel miserable, until I finally throw up, after which I will feel better. Sometimes I can eat a meal and it all gets digested and I can eat another one, but other times I can’t, or I don’t know what to eat. With my first pregnancy, I needed tasty food, but this time bland seems to be better, but I’m getting tired of soda crackers, and nothing seems to be helping. Having a toddler standing by offering me a bite of banana while I’m bowing before the toilet goddess doesn’t help either (when I need to throw up and can’t, a banana seems to do the trick–one bite and my stomach lets loose! She eats the rest of
it).Anyhow, I described my symptoms to my mom (who didn’t really have any morning sickness with either of her kids), and she said it sounded like nerves. Her mom used to worry and then her food would sit for hours in her stomach. But when I’m not pregnant I have a cast iron stomach! I can eat anything except for too much Korean food late at night. I’d rather deal with the labor pains than this long drawn out sickness. At least it only lasts a couple of months (or did with my first). I just want to know if other mothers have experienced this same acid-free issue, or is this something I should talk to my midwife about?
What I’m really asking is this: do other women have the same thing with an empty/no-acid stomach, or am I abnormal?-
ANSWER:
One thing that helped me a lot was Ginger Ale. I don’t like it, but the ginger taste really does calm your stomach down. And it’s not an overpowering taste, either.

I’ve NEVER had morning sickness before, ever-but from probably a few days after conception till now, I’ve been having pretty bad morning sickness. I’m also feeling extremely tired-I’m usually a bit more run down but nothing like this. I’m exhausted-and starving all the time!Obviously its too early for me to find out but I’m trying to prepare myself-have any of you moms of twins, that had previous kids, notice a lot more morning sickness/fatigue with your multiples? QUESTION:
help..morning sickness?
Is it normal for a pregnancy test to come out a light positive. I’m six weeks but when I took the test it was a light positive and it wasn’t morning urine, I also haven’t drank anything cause of severe morning sickness. Can someone tell me if its normal? Is there any medication I can get from a doctor for morning sickness. I’ve tried crackers ginger and small meals but I can’t keep anything down.-
ANSWER:
The most important thing right now is to stay hydrated. You really don’t want to be dehydrated, so drink as much as possible. Take small sips so as not to overwhelm your stomach. Water can sometimes hurt an empty stomach, so try ginger ale with the bubbles stirred out (carbonation can also hurt your stomach), powerade or gatorade, or juice, if you can manage it.Other things that might work for you are popsicles or ices, and fruit–a lot of miserably pregnant women find that they CAN eat fruit, so try out different kinds if that appeals at all. For me, I found that I could eat (at different times) strawberries, grapefruit, and thinly sliced golden delicious apples. It was weirdly specific, but it kept me alive!
You might also want to try adding peanut butter to your crackers. Peanut butter has protein, which will make you feel better if you can keep it down.
You should try having very small “meals”–a bite of a cracker here and there when you can stomach it. A lot of people find that keeping crackers or something light next to their bed and taking a few bites before they even get out of bed in the morning. You will feel worse if your stomach is empty, so keeping food in it–even just a little bit–will help stave off the misery.
If nothing else works, ask your doctor for medication like reglan or zofran to help.
Good luck!

QUESTION:
How much weight did “morning sickness” cause you to loose?
I’m 9 weeks pregnant with my second baby . . . with both pregnancies I’ve had a lot of nausea, and tons of food adversions. But with the first, I never lost more than a 1/2 pound or so. This time, I’ve lost 3. I’m not too worried . . . my BMI is still just above 20 (normal is 18.5 to 24.9), so I’m not wasting away, but I was curious how much weight it’s “normal” to loose.I’ve been able to control the nausea with Zofran, but even with my stomach feeling better it’s a challange to find anything I want to eat. Just hoping that it passes sooner than it did with baby #1 (after delivery . . .)!

ANSWER:
I had sickness really bad.
For over a mth I was being sick every twenty min 24/7 and was very close to being admitted due to dehydration.
It started to ease off at 15 weeks and although I have had some days where I feel nauseous its no where near as bad as it was.
I am not sure exactly what weight I lost but my cheeks were hollow and I did not look healthy.
I tried anti sickness tablets but none worked for me.
I tried so much to ease it and only a few things eased it a tiny bit like:Hot blackcurrent,
Ginger ale,
Crystallized ginger,
Plain biscuits,
Dry crackers,
Dry toast,I had to snack very little and often to try and keep something down me.
The main thing is to sip on water all through out the day.

thanks so much all the answerrsss are wonderfull. i think i am going to buy a 9 month supply of saltine crackers now and ginger ale <3-
ANSWER:
At night before you go to bed, put crackers and water by your bedside. Before you sit up in the morning eat a few crackers and drink the water and then lay there for a little while (this might mean you need to get up 30 minutes early everyday for school). This helped me a lot. Stay away from spicy foods. Try to eat small meals 4 to 5 times a day instead of large meals. Carry crackers in your purse so that when you feel sick you can munch on them. Also try eating pretzels (for some reason probably the salt they made the sickness go away but not all of the time). Drinking ginger ale, sprite or 7 up also helped.

How to know if you arepregnant – Am I pregnant signs and symptoms, there are many ways to tell if you arepregnant the big one is the morning sickness (nausea/vomiting) which doesn’t have to happen in the morning for it to be morning sickness this can happen at anytime of the day or night, that’s why this phrase bugs the life out of me why call this symptom morning sickness when it can happen at anytime, all you can do is try and eat small and frequent snacks throughout the day to try to get through the sickness especially if you think you are pregnant.
Some pregnant women have really strange cravings too, some cravings I have heard of are licking or sucking coal which I think sounds disgusting, also pickled onions by the barrel load, and salsa with spoon in one hand jar in the other eating it like it’s a yoghurt yuck. But each to their own if that’s what they want then that’s what new daddy to be has to rush out to the twenty four hour store at three in the morning, just to satisfy his “blooming” pregnant wife.
Also you may have breast tenderness just like the feeling in the breasts when you are on your period which is really uncomfortable feeling, especially if your partner catches you in that area obviously you or he dont know if you are pregnant yet doesn’t help that, or you sleep on your stomach at night, this tenderness is caused by the increase in the hormone HCG.
Also gaining weight can be a big sign of how to know if you arepregnant especially when you’re not eating fatty foods, such as pizza, burgers, high calorie portions of food and are not drinking lots of alcohol but still increasing in weight, then I would suggest you do a pregnancy test.
Am I pregnant, do you feel the need to use the toilet lots more than usual this is your uterus swelling and enlarging for the foetus to grow the uterus puts pressure on the bladder which makes you feel like you are going to burst and need to stop turn round and head to the toilet quickly and if you are not near a toilet there could be disastrous consequences.
Is your day feeling longer or are you just feeling more tired, but feeling tired is a natural thing to happen if you work and are up early each day, why would you think oh I may be pregnant, but tiredness is one of the most common symptom of pregnancy, due to drastic hormonal changes your temperature also goes through the roof, so don’t convince yourself you’ve got just a fever the high temperature is because of the amount of progesterone circulating through your body and making you feel like trash.
Obviously we all know if you miss a period then something is not right, but not all women miss periods when they are pregnant there are lots of women that go throughout there whole pregnancy still having periods and then find out they are in labour that they are giving birth, now wouldn’t that be a shock.
Heartburn sometimes happens in some women but not all women this is caused by the hormones slowing down your digestive system and the uterus growing and pushing upwards and this feels like you’ve been punched in the stomach.
Constipation or piles can be a sign also but not all pregnant women suffer with these symptoms, due to hormones slowing down the bowel movements, and if you do have any of these then go to your Gp for advice because both of these can hurt a great deal, when you have constipation you’ll feel as though you’re already giving birth when trying to go to the toilet that is how much it aches (ouch).
Dizziness or fainting can happen in pregnancy because of the pressure of the uterus putting strain on the legs and veins in them which lowers your blood pressure and could cause you to faint or feel like you’ve just walked off a fair ride or something.
How toknow if you arepregnant – Am I Pregnant Signs Symptoms if you arestill not quite sure and you have any of the symptoms above or feel there’s any possibility that you could be pregnant go and see your GP as soon as you can.

Would you like to avoid getting seasick? Seasickness effects everyone, although it can effect some people more than others. The article below examines sea sickness and discusses the facts, the myths and the reasons behind it.
THE CAUSE OF SEASICKNESS:
Sea sickness occurs when the mov 00004000 ement of the waters swell impacts on the inner ear. If what the eyes are seeing does not match up with the movement felt by the inner ear you begin to feel sick. This sickness is similar to any type of travel sickness and some people seem to experience it’s effects more than others. On a boat it usually happens when the swell is large and you are constantly looking down or in a cabin.
SEA SICKNESS MYTHS:
Some people will say only weak people experience sea sickness. This however is not true as sea sickness is caused by our bodies as outlined above. Some people also find it funny when other people get seasick but it can be a very dangerous experience especially if an individual becomes severely de-hydrated.
SEA SICKNESS REMEDIES:
The best way to avoid sea sickness is to keep your eyes on the horizon. If you keep your eyes up you will be able to see the swell of the sea so your eyes and inner ear movements will match up.
Travel sickness tablets can also prevent sea sickness. These tablets are especially useful for people who have a history of experiencing travel sickness. Remember you need to take them before you go out on the boat. If you take them whilst you are feeling sick it will often be too late.
Some people recommend herbs such as ginger and garlic to ward off against sea sickness. Although there is no real evidence to prove this i am a big fan of my spaghetti’s and indian cuisine and i have never been sick on the ocean once!
Another option is to wear specially formulated bracelets that allegedly ward of sea sickness. Some chemists recommend these but people who i have known to use them find no difference in their sickness levels.
Basically to prevent sea sickness from becoming a problem you should try to stay in the open air as much as possible. Try to sit in the stern of the boat where the rocking motions are most likely to be the smallest. Also, try to avoid excessive intake of alcohol or this will only fuel your chances of getting sick.
WHAT TO DO IF SEA SICKNESS STRIKES:
Sea sickness usually strikes the most in a stationary boat. If you get sick or feel sickness coming along, try to get underway again. Most people feel a lot better once the boat is underway.
If others get sick try not to look and try to distance yourself from them for a bit. Usually, if one gets sick another gets sick and and another so try to stay away as much as possible.
If you get seasick, remember to keep your fluids up. Vomiting is a main cause of dehydration. If you have severe dehydration, consider replacing lost fluids with electrolytes to prevent complications. Remember to take small sips of water constantly. If you drink too much at once you are likely to bring it up again. If you or someone on board has severe seasickness, try to get them to shore quickly. Some people may find it funny when others get sick but seasickness can be very debilitating and even dangerous if it does not go away quickly.

Morning Sickness is a condition in pregnancy that affects most of the women who are pregnant. It is seen as a symptom of pregnancy. It is very common in the first trimester. It is a feeling of nausea and sometimes it induces vomit also. The intensity of morning sickness varies from person to person. It normally eases by the second trimester that is the fourth month, but each pregnancy is different.
It is called “morning” sickness but the feeling of nausea may last all day. The name is so because the feeling is normally worst in the mornings. The cause could be due to the increase in the level of estrogen during pregnancy. The hCG is also produced in large quantity during a pregnancy, which can induce morning sickness or nausea. A woman goes through many changes when she gets pregnant, so these changes affect the woman. If one is exhausted, the nausea can affect more. The positive side of morning sickness can be seen as it prevents the toxins reaching the fetus. If the pregnant woman ingests any kind of toxins in food or otherwise, it acts like a defense mechanism. During pregnancy the body rejects or throws out the toxins through morning sickness. However it may cause dehydration, so one should take care.
The sense of smell also enhances during pregnancy, therefore some smells can trigger off morning sickness. One is more likely to have morning sickness if she is carrying multiple fetuses. If it was present in a previous pregnancy, it is likely to be present in the next pregnancy also. It does not harm the baby. If one cannot eat due to morning sickness, vitamin supplements must be taken.
It is difficult to get rid of nausea because it is a natural process. Treatment is usually not required for this problem but to get some relief from it, some home remedies can be used. It may not take the feeling of morning sickness away completely but will help in lessening the discomfort caused. Some home remedies are as follows –
1. Lemon: Smelling freshly cut lemons reduces its feeling.
2. Small meals: Eating many small meals is better than eating big heavy meals. Digestion will be better too.
3. Fruits and vegetables: Eating fresh fruits and vegetables keeps one healthy.
4. Ginger: Having ginger ale or ginger tea takes away the nausea feeling. Ginger works like a medicine.
5. Crackers: Having dry crackers in the morning helps ease away from this problem.
6. Bland food: Spicy food can trigger this problem, so try having bland food.
Avoid strong smells and odors. Avoid eating greasy food which can cause discomfort. Avoid staying empty stomach for long periods of time. Take healthy diet at regular interval as prescribed by your doctor. This will help you in controlling this problem. Try to avoid brushing your teeth immediately after eating food. Drink water stay hydrated. Intake of vitamins should be taken care of. Take in fresh air and try to relax. All these factors will help you in this condition.

Morning sickness remedies when you’re still hiding your pregnancy?
I’m starting to get mild morning sickness at work during the day. Not running to the bathroom, but feeling queasy and dizzy. I’m only seven weeks along, so I haven’t announced yet. I’m worried that the secret will get out if people start noticing me stuffing my face with saltine crackers or eating ginger–you know, those well-known morning sickness remedies. Already I’ve had to make up a reason for having a huge box of saltines in my desk drawer (I’m on a soup kick!).Does anyone know any good remedies for morning sickness that are not so well known, so I can fly under the radar for just a few more weeks?

There are pressure points in the web of your hand (between the thumb and first finger) if you press into the center of the meaty part it can help.Vitamin B-6 also helps 35 mg every few hours as needed.
Never be full, but never be empty. Snack alot. Have a drawer full of “snack size” crackers, pretzels, carrots, celery. If anyone asks you are on a diet. It looks pretty much the same. Small portions of healthy foods.
Keep away:
Foods that smell strongly, tea (because of the tanic acid) and Coffee (also due to the acid, not the caffeine) can add to the nausea. Also, nausea can be contributed to constipation which is very common in pregnancy. Be sure to drink plenty of water so you keep going.

QUESTION:
What are home remedies for morning sickness?
I’m 9 weeks and 5 days pregnant and this morning sickness is really kicking my butt. Is their any Home remedies i can do to stop the sickness being so bad?-
ANSWER:
The most important thing right now is to stay hydrated. You really don’t want to be dehydrated, so drink as much as possible. Take small sips so as not to overwhelm your stomach. Water can sometimes hurt an empty stomach, so try ginger ale with the bubbles stirred out (carbonation can also hurt your stomach), powerade or gatorade, or juice, if you can manage it.If you do get dehydrated, don’t wait–go to the emergency room and get fluids intravenously. It’s not fun, but it will make you feel better and break the vicious cycle of dehydration.
Other things that might work for you are popsicles or ices, and fruit–a lot of miserably pregnant women find that they CAN eat fruit, so try out different kinds if that appeals at all. For me, I found that I could eat (at different times) strawberries, grapefruit, and thinly sliced golden delicious apples. It was weirdly specific, but it kept me alive!
You might also want to try adding peanut butter to your crackers. Peanut butter has protein, which will make you feel better if you can keep it down.
If nothing else works, ask your doctor for medication like reglan or zofran to help.
Good luck!

QUESTION:
Anyone know any good remedies for morning sickness?
Hi there, I am 8 weeks pregnant and have been feeling really ill this past couple of weeks. I’m not new to this pregnancy thing at all as this is my fourth child, but I have never experienced morning sickness, fortunately! I’m not actually vomitting but am feeling constantly nausiated no matter what I eat or drink, and it is not just the mornings, it can be all through the day until I go to bed at night!
I would love to know if anyone has any natural remedies for this. I do know that everyone is different and some things work for some and not others, but I would really appreciate your help.
I would prefer not to take any pills of any sort, if possible. Thanks-
ANSWER:
green tea is nice for morning sickness.
healthy too.
sometimes milk helps but it might not do so well.
crackers help alot too.
maybe some plain toast? alot like a cracker.
eating a shaving of fresh ginger whenever a wave of nausea hits works really well. you can buy it in a little plastic container wherever sushi is sold.
potato chips go down well and feel good while they are there! do not eat the fat-free potato chips with
that newly approved fat substitute in them, olestra, this substance has been proven to carry important nutrients out of your body, before they can be digested. the salt and
vinegar chips can ease nausea especially well and here is why. many women experience a lot of queasiness and morning sickness during pregnancy because their saliva glands excrete more saliva than usual. all the excess saliva in the mouth makes you feel sick. the salt and vinegar on the potato chips dries up the excess saliva. thus, it reduces or totally eliminates the queasiness and morning sickness.

QUESTION:
Any good home remedies for morning sickness?
My wife has morning sickness bad. We have tried everything so want that it not common that we have not tried.-
ANSWER:
Each woman is different where morning sickness cures are concerned. What works for one, may or many not work for another. Below you will find ideas which you can try:* Vitamin B6 – 50 mg. daily. Vitamin B6 has been scientifically shown to help morning sickness. You can find Vitamin B6 at your local drugstore or health food store. Just recently, companies have started to incorporate therapeutic doses of Vitamin B6 into their products to help you cure your morning sickness. One is B-Natal TheraPops are cherry flavored lollipops which have been shown to help cure morning sickness for many women. Another Vitamin B-6 enriched product is called Morning Sickness Magic. Morning Sickness Magic is a herbal remedy containing Ginger, Vitamin B-6, Red Raspberry Leaf and Folic Acid.
* Avoid warm places as heat can increase the nausea feelings.
* Take naps during the day (but not right after eating). Tiredness plays a big part in morning sickness.
* Get enough sleep at night.
* Get out of bed slowly in the morning.
* Try eating plain crackers or dry cereal before you get out of bed in the morning.
* Open windows or turn on exhaust fans when cooking and after meals.
* Cooking in the microwave usually produces less odors.
* Ginger in capsules form 250 mg. three times daily can be beneficial. Ginger has long been associated with alleviating nausea. You can also get the benefit of using ginger by chewing on crystallized ginger or sucking on ginger hard candies.
* Silly as it sounds, carry a handkerchief with a few drops of a non nausea causing essential oil (lemon for example) in it and breath through it if you can’t get away from the smell that is bothering you.
* Avoid greasy or spicy foods as they often cause nausea or heartburn.
* Eat what you want when you want it. Your cravings will not lead you the wrong way.
* Have frequent protein snacks. (Low fat meats and seafood, nuts, eggs and beans are high protein.)
* Eat smaller meals every two hours or so.
* Eating something salty before a meal can help you “make it through” a meal.
* Do not drink fluids with your meals.
* Non caffeinated teas like peppermint and ginger can help came nausea.
* Drink small amounts of fluids regularly though out the day to avoid dehydration.
* Do not skip meals if you can help it.
* Try taking your prenatal vitamins later in the day. Pregnancy Plus prenatal vitamins are smaller in size and are less likely to upset your stomach. You may also want to consider taking your prenatal vitamin at night before you go to bed to give it a chance to be absorbed overnight.
* Avoid spicy and fried food – both eating and smelling it can increase your nausea.
* Cold food may have less nausea inducing smells associated with them.
Doctor Prescribed Medications
If your morning sickness is severe enough, your doctor may prescribe medication that will help you reclaim some normality in your life. If you are unable to keep food or water down for any length of time, PLEASE talk to your doctor to see what can be done. Extensive weight loss / dehydration can be harmful to both mom and baby. Your doctor will be able to evaluate your situation and health profile and decide which medication will be most helpful in giving you morning sickness relief. The medications prescribed are administered in three different ways depending on the severity of the morning sickness and the medication: orally, intravenously, and in suppository format. For an extensive listing of the medications which can be prescribed for severe morning sickness relief, please visit Hyperemesis.org.

QUESTION:
Remedies for morning sickness?
Hey everyone,Does anyone have any *natural* remedies that will help with morning sickness in dogs?
Would love to hear what other people have used and how it works. Natural remedies are definitely preferred, but any suggestions are welcome.
Thanks in advance!
Thanks everyone. I will definitely try the frequently small meals. She never had any morning sickness during her other pregnancy. Luckily she has not thrown up in my lap!Just to be clear, I do not necessarily mean that it’s in the morning. It actually usually is later in the day.
-
ANSWER:
Small frequent meals. I think it keeps the stomach from filling up with stomach acid.Every blasted pregnant b*tch I’ve ever had has walked up to me after drinking water with the “I don’t feel good” look on their face… and then puked in my lap or on my shoes. Frequent small meals helps.. even if it’s just a few kibbles of dog food.

QUESTION:
any other remedies for morning sickness?
are there any other remedies for morning sickness other than ginger, peppermint, and b vitamin? (i know all the tips for reliving it) but i want to see if there are any other herbs or something that can help.i CANNOT throw up.i have SEVERE emetophobia and will completly break down if i do.
NO medication.alternative health only-
ANSWER:
I had this bad for 26 weeks and was throwing up every couple of hours or thereabouts, so I very much sympathise with you. I found a few things worked to help reduce the intensity of this (though didn’t alleviate it completely).1) Homeopathy – you will need to see a properly trained homeopath who will take a case history so that they can individually tailor what will work best for you. It’s different for everyone, even for the same symptoms.
2) Morning well tape – it’s a rhythmic tune that works on the inner ear and helps to reduce sickness. http://www.morningsicknessrelief.com/MorningWell.html
3) Sea bands – worn on the wrists they act on pressure points that again for some people can help with sickness (travel sickness and morning sickness alike).
4) Try to see if any particular things trigger your own sickness. I found that for me glucose set me off (only when I was pregnant, I was fine once I gave birth), so I switched to fructose instead and that really helped
Good luck!

QUESTION:
What are some quick remedies for morning sickness?
I’m at work and am feeling really nauseated. I haven’t vomited (yet). Any ideas on what I can do?
I’m at work, so I need some advice on what I can do NOW. Thanks!-
ANSWER:
Eat, eat, eat. Try to keep something in your stomach at all times to cut down on nausea. I find that bland foods (crackers, cereal, toast, etc) work better than spicy, greasy, or sour ones. Also, I find that things that are heavy on protein seem to help (nuts, peanut butter, cheese, yogurt, milk, meat, etc). Also, one person said to try 7-Up or Sprite, but I find that carbonation makes things worse — you’ll have to figure out what works for you. Good luck!

any remedies for morning sickness and naseau in pregnancy?
i have tried eating dry foods first thing in the morning but i dont even get a chance to swallow before it all comes pouring out. please help!!!!-
ANSWER:
Everyone one told me ginger, but it didn’t work for me.
You can buy some sweets called preggypops on the web which are supposed to work. I found that juicy fruity chewy sweets helped me.
When you can eat, have very little very often. You could also try ice lollys, arrowroot biscuits, banana & apple.
I went to the doctor and got some antiacid stuff that really helped & cyclizine pills which are antisickness and safe to take in early pregnancy. Only take things perscribed by your doctor. Please don’t use over the counter medicine as it may not be safe for you to take.

QUESTION:
Anyone have any good remedies for morning sickness?
I’ve actually been feeling sick on and off throughout the day but not throwing up until nighttime. I’m almost 7 weeks along and would appreciate the advice of some seasoned pros
-
ANSWER:
There are some wrist bands that you can wear. They are at Walmart in the pharmacy dept (where the motion sickness meds are) (if you don’t see them ask the pharmacy staff). They work very well (they apply slight pressure to your pressure points on your wrists) and are recommended for morning and motion sickness. I was having HORRIBLE morning sickness and I bought them, nausea disappeared. It is best to wear them BEFORE you start to feel nauseated because it prevents it rather then after you start to feel bad; they will still work but it takes about 30 minutes before you will start to feel better. I liked them because the LAST thing I wanted ( while I was nauseated) was something in my mouth.

Ok I just found out I was pregnant this morning. Woo hoo for me! I have two already 13 and 8 and let me tell you, I had all day sickness for 3 months and it was terrible. I tried the crackers and ginger ale but those never worked. Now that I have yahoo answers this time around, I’m wondering ladies, what has worked for you??? I’d like to prepare myself for the coming weeks.thanks
-
ANSWER:
Congrats. Let’s hope this time you escape the morning sickness (it can happen). I’ve had three pregnancies, one with brutal sickness for 3 months, one with medium sickness and one with minimal. In case you don’t escape it, here are some things that helped me…
- take vitamin on a full stomach, never on an empty stomach
- if you can’t stomach the vitamin try just taking folic acid during the worst of it
- never let your stomach get empty, try the crackers again, keep them everywhere
- try those preggie pops or whatever those suckers at motherhood store are called
- most gingerale doesn’t actually contain any real ginger, try making your own ginger tea, or try ginger tablets from the healthfood store
- eat what your feel like you can handle
- if you can’t manage with these, I would go to your Dr. and ask for medication. I went on diclectin (I think this is only in Canada, but I’ve heard there is something similar in the States). It made me tired but really helped with the morning sickness.Good Luck!

QUESTION:
Morning sickness remedies?
Does anyone have any good home remedies for morning sickness. I’d like something that has been tried and true. My “morning sickness” pretty much lasts ALL day long. I’d love to NOT feel like my head is spinning and I need to stay near a washroom all day, especially since we’re moving in a week or so, and I need to get to my packing.
Thanks everyone.-

Non-alcoholic ginger beer. You can find it at any health food store or something like Whole Foods. It’s the only thing besides ginger tea that helped me out.

morning sickness remedies?
I’ve been feeling horribly nauseous for weeks. Does anybody know any home remedies for morning sickness? Ginger hasn’t worked, and munching on saltines just makes me feel full and nauseous. Has anyone tried the sea-bands? Do they work?-
ANSWER:
Sea bands didn’t work for me. I still wear them occassionally hoping they’ll up and start working but so far, they’re a no-go. Saltines and ginger ale/sprite also make me more nauseas. I wish I could find a home remedy that actually works. Of course you can take benadryl or something over the counter for nausea but I hate taking medicines. I guess I’m just going to tough mine out. Good luck.

QUESTION:
8 wks pregnant and looking for morning sickness remedies…?
I am 8wks pregnant and suffering quite badly with nausea. I haven’t actually vomited yet but the constant nausea is starting to drain my energy levels even more than the tiredness!!Does anyone know of any nausea busting remedies that actually work? I am currently using motion sickness bands which do work to a certain extent and ginger biscuits don’t do the trick for me…
Any help would be very greatly appreciated!! Thanks in advance:)
-
ANSWER:
I was very sick for about 8-10 weeks with this pregnancy…over it now! woohoo! But the one thing that worked the best was when I first got out of bed I would make a cup of hot chocolate. It was a thicker drink, so it put something in my belly which helped…but it was easier to keep down than solid food. also…animal crackers went down fairly well…and sucking on lollipops (I used tootsie pops) helped calm the nausea for me.

QUESTION:
Does anyone know any old wives remedies for morning sickness?-
ANSWER:
Well there are several actually that spring to mind…. gingerale which in turn has ginger in it ..ginger is a natural cure for stomach ailments as well as pepperment tea. Also saltine crackers because of the baking soda content. Although you may want to purchase the non salted variety while being pregnant. Too much salt isnt good for you then and may add to edema. Time usually takes care of morning sickness in most pregnancies. Hopefull as you progress in yours it will settle .Hope that it gets better soon and you can enjoy this wonderful time in your life!

QUESTION:
Any remedies for morning sickness?
I can’t take it all day at work- I will try anything.-
ANSWER:
I felt like that when I was pregnant with my daughter… There isn’t much that can be done but here is what helped me take off enough of an edge to get through the days…I wore sea sickness bracelets.
I had a VERY COLD iced tea & bag of Herr’s Choc covered pretzels every single morning.
I kept snacks like a bagel, fruit, nuts, granola bars, etc at my desk all day and forced myself to eat one of those snacks every time the nausea was heading into “porelain throne” worthy territory.
I made sure to keep pretzels by my bed so I could snack on a few every time I woke up to go pee, or in the morning before I got up.
And I just kept telling myself that time will wash away the all day 24/7 what am I doing having a kid nausea…
Good Luck!!!
Oh, this time I am finding that Jolly Ranchers (specifically Cherry) are helping calm sudden urges to run for the restroom…

ANSWER:
i’d call your dr and ask to be prescribed some medication to help your morning sickness.other then that, try eating small snacks through out the day.
ive found pretzels, almonds, any type of bland cereal, saltines, dry toast, ginger ale ect all seem to help keep the morning sickness to a min.also, don’t eat 3 big meals, instead, eat 5 smaller meals through out the day.
i think i heard somewhere once that if you microwave more food, its easier to eat because when you cook food you get more of the smells, which can trigger the sickness more.good luck hunny

My boyfriend says it’s all in my head and that I don’t actually have to throw up, but it’s not. I feel horribly sick just about every second of the day. Is this normal?
any remedies for morning sickness would be greatly appreciated.-
ANSWER:
A lot of women I’ve run across at the hospital have told me about sea-bands. They’re like sweat bands you wear on your wrists that have painless accupuncture spots on them. All the women I spoke to swear by them, even a few pregnant nurses say there is nothing better. By the time I found out about them I was getting over my morning sickness, so I can’t vouch, but I mean a LOT of women were using them. One nurse thought she was over the morning sickness so she took them off, and 5 minutes later she was sick. Sounds worth a shot to me! Here’s a web-site you can order them from. http://www.morningsicknesshelp.com/seabands.html
I know Walgreen’s carries them, as well as many pharmacies so you might not have to wait for them to come in the mail. Good luck!

QUESTION:
remedies for morning sickness?
My daugther is 7 weeks pregnant and has terrible morning sickness, in fact it lasts ALL day long. Nothing seems to works for the poor girl. She can’t keep anything down. Any ideas on what she can do to help?-
ANSWER:
if her sickness is between 20-30 times a day she could be suffering from hyperemisis and I suggest she sees her GP to check her keytones – maybe she needs Stemitil an anti sickness drug – but this is only available if she has hyperemisis.Everyone says saltine crackers – and personally they havent worked for me – with my both my children I had hyperemisis, my 1st lasted till 16 weeks, and I am at 11 weeks and still suffering with my 2nd.
Try chewing gum, having a ice pole to keep you hydrated, drink little and often, and as for food, eat what you fancy – small meals though.
Ginger is supposed to be good also, ginger biscuits etc..
My midwife did mention you can have accupuncture to help cure it – but make sure you go to a professional which deals with it for pregnancy

QUESTION:
Mothers or pregnant women…any miracle remedies For morning sickness That I don’t already know about?
This is my fourth child and I once again have terrible morning sickness. Do you know any secrets I don’t?-
ANSWER:
These are my 6th & 7th children and I’ve had the worst morning sickness ever!Crackers made me sick. Actually, any kind of white breads. Soda is never good for anybody, and soda with real ginger is even harder to find. The smell of ginger alone makes me more sick – I have no idea who thought of this, but they’re crazy!
I tried those “preggie pops” – really, they’re pretty good. If you like candy. But, did nothing for the morning sickness. What I got – was major sugar highs. And then the sugar lows were soooo bad, I got migraines from them. I will never recommend them to a smart pregnant person.
You can take Emetrol. As directed. I think it’s 1-2 spoonfuls every few hours.
1/2 unisom gel caplet with a vitamin B6 – at night. Other kids running around make a mom sleepy enough at night – even 1/2 unisom will knock you out! I like the gel caps, because they’re easier to cut & not yucky chalky.
I called my OB – he gave me a prescription for Zofran. Really expensive if you don’t have insurance coverage. Instant-dissolve pill, that works wonders. If it wasn’t for those pills, I don’t know how I would’ve held anything down.
No matter what – keep yourself hydrated. Take several sips as often as you can. Dehydration not only makes morning sickness worse – but also creates more havoc in your system. (Cramps, dizziness, slowdown of digestion, constipation, etc).
If you think you’re morning sickness is more severe this time around – call your OB. I was soooo sick that when I went to see mine, he was asking whether or not twins run in my family, before he turned on the portable ultrasound. Sure enough, twins! Women in their late 20′s to 30′s actually have an increased chance of twins, if they’ve given birth before.

QUESTION:
How can I hide morning sickness?
I am a senior in high school, and I will be graduating in June. I am now 4 weeks pregnant, and morning sickness is killing me. I have no intention of telling anyone at the school, by graduation I should barely show. Please no comments about how I’m too young to have a baby, I am fully aware of the situation.
Any home remedies for morning sickness would be helpful, thank you.-
ANSWER:
You can’t really hide morning sickness, but try bananas (the potassium eases nausea), tums, gingerale, saltine crackers and drink a ton of water to stay hydrated. Also, what time of day are you taking your prenatal vitamins? I have found that if I take mine in the morning (even at 32 weeks pregnant), I get nauseous and occasionally vomit, however, if I take them at night, right before bed, with a glass of milk (to coat the stomach) then I am fine.

QUESTION:
Home remedies for morning sickness?
I’m only 6 weeks pregnant and have been suffering with morning sickness since shortly after becoming pregnant… which is unusual. I’m not vomiting but I can not eat. I get so hungry that I can’t think but if I look at food or try to eat I get extremely queasy and light headed. A few times I even start gagging and barely manage to not vomit. With my last pregnancy all I had to do was sip some gatorade and would feel better. I want to know what your remedies are/ were, or what you ate that was easier to digest. Thanks!-
You might also want to try adding peanut butter to your crackers. Peanut butter has protein, which will make you feel better if you can keep it down.
If nothing else works, ask your doctor for medication like reglan or zofran to help.
Good luck!

QUESTION:
Natural remedies for morning sickness?
My friend has got terrible morning sickness. I heard a while ago (can’t remember where) that ginger was a good natural cure. Can someone confirm that for me please?-
ANSWER:
Saltines are great. They do say sipping on ginger ale is suppose to help. She doesn’t need to let her stomach get empty, that always made me more sick. Even if she doesn’t feel like eating, she needs to nibble on some saltines. She should drink sprite 30 minutes before a meal, and she needs to keep her meals small. She doessn’t need to eat anything greasy and lots of meat will make it worse. She might take a vitamin b6 supplement, the doctor recomended it to me. It might have actually made me more sick, but it may work for her. I would also suck on a peppermint after each meal and that helped because it got the food taste out of my mouth. But if she gets bad enough that she can’t keep anything down she needs to call the doctor for and appt. She also may try eating a few saltines before she gets out of bed. Tell her to keep her a pack by her bed and before she sits up to eat a few.

QUESTION:
Morning Sickness – Remedies?
I’m 7 weeks pregnant with my second child and the morning sickness is just overwhelming. I had a bit of a morning sickness with my first one but nothing like this. I’ve got no energy to do anything at the moment. I’m hoping that this will pass by quickly but am worried it will last for some weeks.I have been drinking ginger tea (fresh ginger cut into peaces with hot water) which helps a little bit but there is only so much I can drink of it.
Anyone know some secret (or not so secret) remedies out there for morning sickness, which by the way lasts all day.

QUESTION:
Easy Remedies for Morning/All Day Sickness?
I’m 8 weeks pregnant and have been having morning sickness/nausea all day since week 6. Some days I can eat but most days I just can’t seem to force anything down no matter how hard I try. Occasionally I find Cheerios help but after a while I get disgusted by those. What can I eat or drink to help cure this? I want my baby to get the nutrients it needs.-
ANSWER:
Eating wasn’t easy for me when I had morning sickness, so I tried drinking more. Most people told me to have ginger ale, but that was gross, so I went with Sprite which worked much better
Also, you know those nutrition shakes called Boost? I had some of those.. I’ve never heard anyone else drinking them so I don’t know if they’re good/bad/whatever, lol, but they helped me a little.
Hate to say it, but the only thing that REALLY helped over time was anti-nausea medication. Hopefully your morning sickness won’t get that bad, though!
