I just woke up and I’m hung-over. What now? There has to be something I can do! After awakening, there are many things you can & should do to treat hangover symptoms. Here are 10 suggestions how to get rid of a hangover:
Best hangover cures. These first 5 suggestions for quick hangover recovery are recommended immediately after stumbling out of bed:
1) Re-hydrate your body with plenty of liquids. Drink plenty of purified or spring water immediately after awakening and continue throughout the morning. Tomato juice (such as V8), and other fresh fruit juices are also very effective liquids to treat hangover symptoms. Sports drinks, such as Gatorade or Powerade, often speed up the body’s replenishing process for quick hangover recovery by including electrolytes and other essential vitamins. Herbal teas, such as ginger tea, peppermint tea and chamomile tea are all great ways how to get rid of a hangover.
2) Make sure you eat a decent breakfast, especially if your stomach is relatively empty from the night before. Avoid foods with a lot of starch, animal fats or grease. A greasy sausage in the morning may psychologically or physically make your hangover symptoms feel worse! Laying down briefly after eating breakfast may help your stomach settle and speed the hangover healing process.
3) With your breakfast, be sure to take vitamins, minerals and herbal remedies. Panax Ginseng can bolster mental alertness (and physical endurance). Milk Thistle and Dandelion root herbs can detoxify your liver. The minerals Magnesium and Calcium can replace lost nutrients due to alcohol consumption. Finally, all B-Vitamins, Vitamin-C, and Acidophilus can all aid in quick hangover recovery.
4) Try not to go overboard on aspirin, ibuprofen etc… – it’s easy to think you need more than is prescribed on the bottle, but frequently only a small amount will do the trick. Try to avoid stronger prescribed pain killers as they may be more addictive and have unwanted side effects such as drowsiness. NOTE: The pain reliever acetaminophen has been linked to liver damage, therefore this drug should be avoided by drinkers.
5) One way how to get rid of a hangover is to just ‘sleep it off’ (if you can). After being awake and suffering for a while, consider going back to sleep (if you have no pending obligations). A good nap after you’ve already had breakfast, aspirin, some water etc…. can be one of the best hangover cures by speeding the healing process. Just an hour or two back in bed may be what the doctor ordered to treat hangover symptoms. Consider using an alternative sleep aid such as soft music to help you get more rest. Also, always have an eye mask on hand to block out unwanted light.
Possibly not the best hangover cures, but here are 3 less conventional, yet possibly effective solutions to treat hangover symptoms:
1) “Will” yourself to exercise. This may be very difficult in the midst of feeling ‘blah,’ but if you can overcome your feelings and lack of morning motivation, try to exercise any way you can. Getting your body to move ultimately energizes your spirit and mental alertness and possibly helps your body rid excess alcohol and toxins more quickly. One easy way to invigorate body and mind is to take a good brisk walk around the block.
2) Consider chewing gum aggressively, but don’t overdo it. By chewing gum fast or chewing several pieces at a time, you may make yourself temporarily more alert by increasing blood flow around the head and brain area. Obviously do not chew if you have dental issues. Also avoid chewing for too long – your jaw muscles may become tired or sore, possibly resulting in another headache.
3) Here’s a wild way how to get rid of a hangover. Fill your sink with water and ice and keep dipping your head in-and-out until you’ve had enough. This is sure to invigorate your senses for quick hangover recovery! An ice cold shower can also have similar effects.
Finally:
1) If you have a nasty headache, try using a forehead ice pack to treat hangover symptoms. Not only may this help your headache but the coldness might actually help jolt your overall system into overdrive. If you don’t have an ice pack, make one by filling a re-sealable plastic bag with ice.
2) How to get rid of a hangover ? … just give it time. One of the best remedies is to just give your hangover time to heal itself. The severity or duration of a hangover varies by a number of intangibles such as exactly how much, what and how quickly you drank your alcoholic beverage, the amount of time you slept the previous night and how much food you mixed in with your drinking. Generally, your hangover will peak within the first 2 hours after awakening and steadily improve throughout the day. The average person will be clear of most hangover symptoms by mid-afternoon to early evening.
As you see, there are many ways for quick hangover recovery from terrible morning hangovers, varying from scientifically proven best hangover cures, to more radical wisdom. The biggest obstacle is having the ‘will’ to get over what ails you. Using these suggestions you can easily treat hangover symptoms and cut recovery time by 50 percent or more.

QUESTION:
Can you get evening sickness rather than morning sickness?
I am 8 weeks pregnant, and this is will be my first child. I started noticing I get very nausious in the evening time, that is also the time I take my prenatal vitamins. Is it normal to get evening sickness rather than morning sickness, or could I be getting sick from my prenatal vitamins? Also I have noticed some days I can eat everything in sight and I am still hungry as for other days I will eat a meal and feel stuffed after a few bites. Is this normal?-
ANSWER:
Who ever came up with the phrase morning sickness was an idiot…lol. I call it all day sickness because it can strike at any time. For some it is worse in the morning because of an empty stomach though. And prenatal vitamins used to bring on the sickness for me too, they are pretty nasty. Everything you described is normal.

I am kind of thinking that it is a possibility that I might be pregnant, my period isn’t due yet so I haven’t tested yet. QUESTION:
Is it common to have ‘evening sickness’ as oppose to morning sickness?
I am only a few weeks pregnant, and instead of finding myself rushing to the bathroom every morning, I’ve been finding myself feeling sicky and stuff of an evening especially when settling down to sleep. Has anyone else experienced this?-
ANSWER:
We have 3 children and with the first my wife was sick a few times everyday for the full 9 months. With the second ( i know it sounds daft) she was sick every tuesday for full 9 months and funnily enough my daughter was born on a tuesday lol. With the 3rd she was sick on a teatime for the first 3 months. So i think that tells you that everyones different . Plus the doctor told her that sickness in pregnancy is a good indication of an healthy pregnancy. Good luck !!

QUESTION:
Second trimester morning/evening sickness?
I’m 11 weeks (almost 12) pregnant, and so I’m pretty much out of the first trimester. During the first trimester, I wasn’t sick at all. Now, right after dinner I vomit. I’ve taken to eating primarily bland foods so it doesn’t upset my stomach but that doesn’t do much. Also, now all of a sudden I get morning sickness. I tried keeping some oyster crackers beside my bed and eating those before I even get out of bed but those seem to come back up, too. Is this normal to be sick in the 2nd trimester? Also, how should I deal with the sickness?
BTW, this starting happening a week ago. Aside from the nausea and vomiting, I feel fine. No fevers, chills, et cetera.-
ANSWER:
Unfortunately it is very normal. I was sick all nine months. My doctor never put me on drugs because I was always gaining the minimum at each appointment. In my last few weeks she then questioned her own decision to keep me off the anti-nausea drug. Thus I know a lot about how to deal with morning sickness (or all day sickness in my case)1. Try to figure out if you have food triggers. Even some bland food made me throw up. I threw up everything at one point or another, but some food I almost always threw up.
2. Drink ginger ale- read the label- most ginger ales don’t have actual ginger in them- you want the real stuff
3. Try drinking your nutrients- Smoothies and fruit juice snow-cones were a lifesaver for me.
4. Try to each very small meal- basically snack little amounts at a time
Hopefully one or more of these things will work for you. I hope your sickness goes away soon. Take care

QUESTION:
Morning Sickness?
I am 8 weeks pregnant and the morning sickness is getting worse. I am vomitting the whole day and i feel tired coz of that. I work eight hours a day and keep on running to the toilet coz of the vomitting. Anyone knows any remedies for the morning, afternoon, evening and nite sickness. Please help.-
ANSWER:
Hi. I had the same thing and I got totally dehydrated. My Dr. put me on zofran, and it did wonders. I lost 15 pounds during that time. My morning sickness stopped at exactly 12 weeks. What a relief. I really only had to take about 1/4 of the zofran a day, and it really helped. I also agree with the potato chip theory. They helped too! If you are taking prenatal vitamins, you may want to lay off for a day or two. My Dr. took me off all of my vitamins for about 4 days. Good luck, and hang in there. I hope this helps!

How do I survive morning(evening/all day) sickness?
I’m 9 weeks and some and I’m out of it. I dont throw up but I’m always nauseous. Help! I’m considering sending in a resignation so I can stay home and feel ill-
ANSWER:
Whenever you eat, eat small meals. Don’t eat a big breakfast, lunch and dinner, it is better to eat small snacks througouht the day. When you are feeling nauseous, grab some crackers and sip on a coke or sprite. Its really hard, I worked at a dog grooming shop around dog poop whenever I was at my sickest, but you just have to breathe slowly and not over do yourself.

QUESTION:
Why do I get “morning sickness” late evening and into the night?
I thought it was supposed to be “morning” sickness.. not “all daaaaaay and night!” sickness. is this normal?? it sucks soo much, I hardly sleep anymore.-
ANSWER:
Its called ‘morning sickness’ because its usually at the start of your pregnancy. A bit like a ‘wedding breakfast’ isn’t actually breakfast but the first meal of the wedding.
Try eating little and often to combat it, make sure you are keeping your fluids up above all else though.

QUESTION:
How do you beat morning, afternoon and evening sickness i seem to have it all?Just to clarify i know i pregnant thats how i know i have morning sickness

ANSWER:
Hi. I had the same problem when i was pregnant. Instead of eating 3 big meals a day, eat smaller meals more often. When you feel sick to your stomach, sip some ginger ale, and eat a few saltine crackers. My doctor told me to do this, and it really helped. It will get better as your pregnancy progresses. Best of luck to you

QUESTION:
If you went through the morning/day/evening sickness or is going through one now, how did/do you cope with it?
And, if you were nauseous or is going through one and ate little during the day what kind of foods and beverages did you stick with? Also, if a pregnant woman has an urge to throw up it’s normal for us to throw up right? Please answer my questions and explain what you did too!!-
ANSWER:
Well… I had it in the morning and whenever I ate… It was soooo tough trying to eat… Maybe one or two bites of my food and I couldn’t eat anymore… What I found helped me a lot was biting on ice chips or drinking really cold water or eating string cheese… as funny as that may sound… It helped… A lot of people try the salted crackers but those didn’t help me out any… As far as meals go… I ate a lot of salads, sandwiches, lunch-ables and fruit… Plenty of fruit… Fresh foods just made it way easier to eat… I know it’s not too healthy, but soda made my tummy settle faster… Try a 7up of a squirt… And if you have to throw up then throw up… It makes you feel better after you do… It was a while for me when I would try and throw up and couldn’t… It was worse… But now that I do… It makes me feel better… I hope you get better soon…

QUESTION:
How early can you have morning sickness?
I am on day 20 of my cycle and have been trying to get pregnant. For the last two days I have felt exhausted and nauseous. I also have a sore back. Do you think it’s too early to experience morning sickness, even before I have missed a period!Sorry but also wanted to say that I seem to have a slight liquidy discharge too. What’s that all about?!
-
ANSWER:
I started feeling slightly nauseus a week before my period was due and I was sooo tired and had a sore lower back and sore boobs. I took a test the day my period was due and got a faint positive! so yes, you can be having morning sickness. It’s kind of let up now(I’m about 6 weeks) but I’m sort of expecting it too come back, with my first pregnancy it started the week before my period was due and NEVER went away until I was 6 months, it sucked!
-
-
QUESTION:
Can you have evening sickness instead of morning sickness?-
ANSWER:
YES.Morning sickness is not confined to the morning: nausea can occur at any time of the day, though it most commonly occurs soon after waking because blood sugar levels are typically the most depressed after these hours without eating.[citation needed]
Morning sickness usually starts in the first month of the pregnancy, peaking in the 5th to 7th weeks, and continuing until the 14th to 16th week. For 50% of all sufferers, it ends by the 16th week of pregnancy. For the other half, it may take up to another month to get relief but some women will have morning sickness off and on for their entire pregnancy.

Morning/afternoon/evening sickness?
Hello! As you may have seen earlier, I had 3 +HPT last night! yeay! (ahhhh! scary!)
So I’ve been reflecting.. and I have noticed something.. I have been gagging uncontrollably for the past 4-5 days. Do you think this could be the precursor to some pretty bad morning sickness? I thought it’d be too soon to be affected like this. Thanks!
*by the way.. this is #1, so you will probably see me posting a lot*
-
ANSWER:
Morning sickness is a misnomer, it’s all the time sickness. It could get worse, or it could stay where it is, just eat little meals often – soda crackers, ginger (real ginger like tea, ginger ale, candied ginger), and pretzels all help.

QUESTION:
morning sickness?
I am not sure if I am pregnant or just have a bug but I have been feeling sick and throwing up all day long today. I felt a little nausea on monday morning but didn’t puke (just had to spit a lot) and today I have had diarreah is that commonly associated with morning sickness? Also, even though I can’t keep anything down, I am craving pizza is this normal for a stomach bug, or could I be pregnant?-
ANSWER:
The most important questions are: Have you missed a period? When was your last one? Did you have sex mid-cycle? A period will most likely be missed beofre you feel any symptoms as severe as you are describing.
Sounds like a tummy bug to me – and you may be craving pizza because you are lacking salts from all that vomitting.
Go see your doc.

QUESTION:

Or should i say morning, afternoon and evening and all night sickness!!!!!
Im 6 weeks pregnany, not far i know, and i also know that it passes soon, but I cant eat properly, im managing about 1 1/2 slices of toast and the tiniest bit of tea! It cant be good for the baby at all! And i really need food! Im snapping at everyone because i feel sick and im hungry! Anybody got any suggestions on how to help me please!!! x
And noticed when your not feeling well…food seems to pop up everywhere!
watching tv adn things…you notice them alot more!!
Im not being sick all the time, maily just feelin it.-
ANSWER:
Whatever you eat or drink the baby will take what it needs from your body before you get a look in for your welfare, likewise, if you don’t eat or drink, baby will draw off your body, which is why often women’s hair, nails, skin etc suffer through pregnancy. You haven’t said whether you are being sick or just feel sick. If you just feel sick maybe it’s just a case of finding something to tempt you?
Try eating a dry cracker or biscuit before you get up in the morning which will hopefully stave off the sickness a bit so that you can get a little breakfast down (even if it’s unhealthy, even chocolate or something)
I found that I felt sick all day every day but as long as I ate really regularly (and I mean literally every 30 mins to an hour) I was a bit better.
Hopefully this’ll pass at the 3 month stage ( a way to go yet I know) and the time will pass faster than you think.
If you are being sick all the time, though, you should see your doctor or midwife as you can get too dehydrated and may need to go into hospital.
Good luck, it’ll be worth it in the end, I promise.

QUESTION:
Is it possible for “morning” sickness to kick in around the evening time?
I have no idea how far along i am. Im always puking my guts around 5-6pm is this considered morning sickness..-
ANSWER:
Yep. “Morning” is a misnomer. You can and probably will have have it at any time of the day/night, and it’s totally normal. Only time it’s not normal is if you can’t keep anything down and/or you lose 10% or more of your body weight and/or become dehydrated. To find out how far along you are, count the weeks from the first day of your last period. You’re technically considered 4-5 weeks pregnant the day you miss your next period.

QUESTION:
I have the worst morning/afternoon/evening sickness?
I constantly feel nauseous practically 24/7. I have 2 midterms this week for school and I don’t know what I am going to do. All i feel like doing is sleeping and not do anything. If you had experience .. How do I make this go away? Or at least how do I cope with it?-
ANSWER:
You havent told how many weeks pregnant are you. When I was in my first trimester, I was so sick all the time that I didnt seem to digest even water. My doc gave me some SOS meds which were to be taken only when I felt sick. They seemed to help to a certain degree but mostly I had to live with it. I even lost like 8 lbs and my gyn/ob was not happy. Oh yes and sleep is a big indulgence that doesnt seem to leave you at this time.My suggestion would be take very small meals and dont keep your tummy empty for long. Keep fruits/crackers in your purse and take a bite or two when you feel you are hungry. Dont eat heavy meals. Take small and frequent ones. Listen to your body. Dont stress yourself.

QUESTION:
Evening sickness, not morning and 7 seven weeks pregnant?
Is this normal?-
ANSWER:
Absolutely, I am 10 weeks right now, and have been sick daily. Morning sickness is just the name of the nausea, because alot of women experience it when waking up, but it can come and go anytime or stay. I will feel fine one minute and the next a wave of nausea will come over me. It is just the hormones in your body that is causing this, it should pass by second trimester!! Hopefully:)

QUESTION:
Does anyone have “Evening Sickness” instead of “Morning Sickness”?
I am 7 weeks, and my sickness is much worse in the evenings. I’ve been getting sick every day at 5:00 or 5:30 like clockwork — I feel like my job is getting the best part of me and then my evenings at home are ruined! I feel like I’m neglecting my husband because all I want to do is lay down and sleep — not cook dinner and talk to him about his day, etc. Anyone else have this?-

QUESTION:
What foods could you eat with bad morning sickness?
My morning sickness is brutal: all morning, noon, evening, and night. Right now all I can (barely!) keep down is a plain shredded wheat biscuit with warm milk, chicken broth, and peeled cut-up apple. And I’m not eating much of those things. What worked for you?-
ANSWER:
At first, saltines worked until the day I realized I couldn’t swallow another bite of those dry crackers. Rice was fairly inoffensive. It got to the point with one of my pregnancies where the doctor insisted I drink Ensure every day because I couldn’t eat and was losing too much weight. Surprisingly, it was not hard to get down. I was sure the texture would get me. It may be worth trying, especially if you are not getting a lot of nutrition right now.

QUESTION:
is it normal not to have morning sickness, even if you did with your last 2 pregnancys?
Im 7 weeks and on my 3rd preganacy. my other 2 I was hoverd over the toilet. This time I barely get nauseated, although I do feel tired all the time. My last pregnancy was 11 years ago and I am 33 now. Could it just be different because of my age or could something be wrong?-
ANSWER:
My pregnancies have been exactly like yours! Every pregnancy up until this one I couldn’t tolerate the “morning” sickness. It was constant for about 4 months, and after that it subsided a little but never completely went away. With this pregnancy, I am now 15 almost 16 weeks and there was one day when I felt sick. Every other day has been great! It is completely normal. Enjoy it!!!~~~~

QUESTION:
how long does the morning sickness last????? And what have u done, to make it lighter?
I am now about 6 weeks pregnant, and I have morning sickness, afternoon sickness and evening sickness. I am nausea almost 24/7……. I do eat peppermints, and they help out some…. I am just wondering if anybody else has gone through this during there pregnancy. It has last for over a week now, and I just don’t know, if there is another remedy that I should be looking at.Thanks!!!!!!!!!!
-
ANSWER:
My doctor recommended that I don’t ever go more than 3 hours without eating something. An empty stomach will make it worse! You could also try to drink very tart lemonade or suck on sour candies. As far as medicine goes, my ob had me take a half pill of unisom (or one meltaway tab) and a vitamin B supplement. Taken together, they did help my nausea. If it is still really bad, your doctor can prescribe you zofran or another medication to take the nausea away.Hopefully it wont last too long for you
Mine lasted from 6 weeks until 16 weeks, but I know it stops sooner for a lot of people!

-
QUESTION:
Can morning sickness start even before one can get a positive on a pregnancy test stick?-
ANSWER:
They should be very near one another, because it’s the hormones that pregnancy tests detect that cause morning sickness and your other early pregnancy symptoms. That being said, tests register negative for any number of reasons – there’s not enough hormones in your system to register quite yet, expired or defective tests, not using (or having) quite enough urine for accuracy, or testing when you’re fully hydrated and most of what you’re passing is actually water.
If it’s really morning sickness and not some other issue, you should be able to register positive in the next day or two at the most. Try testing first thing in the morning when you’re dehydrated, and use a reliable name brand test with early results (one that says 5 days before you miss your period) because those are more sensitive. There’s nothing wrong with cheap testers, but they’re not as sensitive and more likely to give you a few false negatives first.
Good luck!

ANSWER:
wait another week and take a pregnancy test, its the only way to know for sure. instead of wasting a lot of money, you can get the dollar ones that works just as well and you could pick up a couple if you wanted to test more than once, as you probably know it’s best to use first morning urine for a more accurate result. and yes, if you are pregnant, then it is common for your partner to have some of the symptoms too. its called sympathy symptoms. my fiance has been having them off and all so far during this pregnancy. he gets his random aches, and cramps and cravings. its really cute. he even felt a bit nauseous a few times. that’s the reason why we say that “we’re pregnant’, instead of saying that i’m pregnant

Morning sickness preggie pops or b-natal lollipops which is best to ease morning sickness?
Several of my friends and my sister say b-natal lollipops did wonders for their morning sickness even those with sevre morning sickness. I was doing research and found preggie pops do preggy pops work as well? I know they key ingrediant in B-natal pops is the vitamin B but I didn’t see any vitamin B on the list of things in Peggie Pops.
I have a stock pile of phenegren too lol I use B natal pops a long time ago and they help w sicknesss I was just wondering if preggie pops work as well because they are more affordable-
ANSWER:
Your best bet is to just try one and if it doesnt work try the other! They probably both work just as well but you never know until you try. I havent had any morning sickness at all so I wouldnt know which is better. I do know that Vitamin B6 is one of the best ways to take care of morning sickness though. Hope this helps a little! Good luck!

QUESTION:
I’ve got a question about morning/daytime/evening sickness…?
I’m 30 weeks pregnant, and I’ve been getting sick every single day around the same time, since last Thursday. I’ve been trying to keep food down, but sometimes it just won’t stay.
Has anyone else had this problem??? I haven’t thrown up for two months other than now. Does throwing up sometimes mean baby’s comming soon or…? I don’t know. Help please!-
ANSWER:
Sounds like morning sickness. I had it right up until delivery. Try eating smaller meals through out the day. Instead of three meals try like 6-8 small ones. Try bland foods( crackers, dry toast, broth) see if that helps the queasiness. Your body needs a constant supply of food to keep running and when your pregnant if you eat wait 7-8 hours eat wait it throws you out of whack and brings on the puking. Try the smaller meals and if it doesn’t work ask your doctor for help.

QUESTION:
Can morning sickness last all day for a week or more?
My friend is worried she’s pregnant because she’s been puking up everything for like a week, but even if morning sickness isn’t always in the morning I don’t think it would last all day.-
ANSWER:
it can. I had it after everything I ate for the first two months. If you can find some bite sized snickers or 3 musketeers bars they might help her. When I started feeling sick I would eat one or two and it settled my stomach. My doctor said it had to do with how the proteins are in the whipped part of the candy bars. It could also just be a bug she caught, I would do a pregnancy test if she misses her cycle.

QUESTION:
How long did your morning sickness last?
I am about 6.5 weeks and morning (and afternoon, evening) sick. It’s so tough feeling like I have the flu all day at work. How long did your morning sickness last??
-
ANSWER:
It may not happen for some people , and sometimes it lasts throughout the pregnancy for some. For me, about 3-4 weeks. For my 3rd pregnancy, it did not happen.
See the gynae, if you are unable to take in food and water. This can be serious. They will put you on a drip to rehydrate you and clear your system. This happened on my 2nd pregnancy.
